The AMETHYST Apartment is a romantic and welcoming retreat in the heart of Alghero.
Located on the first floor of a historic one-story building in Porta Terra – the iconic square marking the start of the pedestrian area – Amethyst offers both comfort and accessibility: reaching the apartment from the square takes less than a minute on foot, with no need to climb the many stairs typical of old town houses.
Free and paid parking is available around Porta Terra or the Port.
Step outside and you’ll find cobbled lanes, towers, bastions, and charming restaurants, along with artisan workshops. Just a few steps away, you’ll reach the sea and Alghero’s small coves, while the beautiful sandy Lido Beach is only a 15-minute walk away.
Its position at the border between the old and new town offers every convenience within easy reach: supermarket, daily fresh market, pharmacy, grocery stores, and the bus to the airport and places of interest.

Beautiful apartment in perfect location! It is right in the pedestrian only area of the historic center with quaint alleys lined with authentic restaurants. You do need to be fit enough to walk with your luggage from your car and to lift it upstairs. I highly recommend this apartment! The host is delightful and will help you with whatever you need!!!

From the moment we arrived, our host, Tiziana, made us feel welcome and explained everything we needed to know. Even beforehand communication was above-and-beyond including recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. She even gave us a welcome gift of local Alghero candy and a large bottle of water. The apartment is decorated with such charm and good taste. Tiziana even explained to us the unique history of the furniture. The beds were so comfortable, even the pull-out couch! Two full bathrooms was so convenient for our family of four, as was the washing machine. The location in old town Alghero is so charming, yet it is right on the outskirts which provides easy access to free street parking with a very short walk. During our stay we loved exploring Alghero (ramparts, outdoor dining, shopping, Ferris Wheel) and Stintino/La Pelosa. We would have loved to go to Asinara and explore by e-bike but we accidentally overslept and missed the ferry! Overall, our stay was amazing and we hope to be fortunate enough to make it back here from the U.S. sometime!

This was a beautiful apartment, and perhaps the best experience I've ever had with VRBO. My host was incredible, responsive, and welcoming. The apartment was even better than described. Will hope to return someday!

The property is exactly as described and is in the perfect location in the old town . There are so many amazing restaurants it was difficult to choose where to go . Mariana was the perfect host and met us late at night for checkin.
She was always on hand if needed and had lots of recommendations for places to eat . Don’t miss eating at the Alamo just opposite but pre booking was required even in late Sept . . The apt is really comfy with 2 shower rooms which was v helpful. We would definitely come back and recommend. Thank you x
