About this house rental
House (180m2) of character with the charm of stone in a family residence. Enjoy your holidays with family or friends in a quiet hamlet with bucolic charm with its pond and its equestrian center. Want to move? The beach is only 20km away, La Rochelle 32 km, Rochefort 20km, the Poitevin marshes 30 km. You will be at the center of the many sites to visit.
The rental is accessible to 8 people and only to travelers who have booked. It is composed on the first floor of a kitchen equipped with induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, pyrolysis oven, classic coffee maker, Tassimo coffee maker, kettle, bread gille, a dining room with table suitable for 8 people, a living room, a bedroom with 140*190 bed opening onto the terrace with shower room with toilet. A mezzanine with office is available above the living room. Upstairs: a bedroom with a 140*190 bed, a landing, toilets, a shower room, a bedroom with a 140*190 bed and 2 90*190 beds.
Outside you will have a large private terrace with garden furniture, parasol and a barbecue
An enclosed garden adjoining the terrace of more than 1000 m2 is at your disposal for your exclusive use. The garden with deckchairs overlooks a natural wooded area.
The rental allows you access to the owners' pool area, from May to September 15 depending on weather conditions The pool is accessible every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except Sundays) and is reserved for you in private mode. A locked gate allows access to the pool area, children must be accompanied and under the supervision of an adult. For the comfort of all, it is requested not to eat or drink in the pool area. The pool is cleaned daily.
On the days and times indicated, the swimming pool is exclusively reserved for you.
In winter you can enjoy good convivial moments around a fireplace. We have the pleasure of decorating the house for the end of year celebrations and allow you to meet around a Christmas tree in the large living room. Presence of a pond at 400 m, an equestrian center. Fishing equipment available on request. Valid fishing permit required.
Board games available: cards, multi-game briefcase, uno, 1000 terminals. Badminton game, molky. New in 2024: ping-pong table (available only in the summer season). New in 2025: Bonzini B90 table football.
A vehicle is essential for your stay. Parking spaces are available in a free parking lot outside the property 50 m away. Possibility to park a vehicle on the property.
The nearest train station is located in SURGERES, 15 km away for journeys from PARIS and in ROCHEFORT or LA ROCHELLE for the NANTES-BORDEAUX line. There is an airport in LA ROCHELLE. Practical advice:
If you want to use the drive-thru to do your shopping, the closest are: SURGERES for Leclerc and AIGREFEUILLE D'AUNIS for Intermarché.

Great house, lots of space, well equipped kitchen, spacious private gardens and excellent pool. Great location to visit several places of interest. Lydie and David were excellent hosts, lovely welcoming food/drink pack, they were very discrete but available if needed. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

We had a lovely time. The house was large and gave us enough space to have our own corners. The pool was lovely, as were the grounds. Paul and Lydie we very kind and welcoming.

We enjoyed a perfect, relaxing holiday at Lydie and David's beautiful house.
The photos really do not do this house justice - it is much bigger than you expect - lots of 'extra' spaces with seating, including a mezzanine with desk and futon, so plenty of space for teenagers to spread out . We were only 5, but there would be plenty of room for 8. It is decorated to a high standard - very tasteful and comfortable. The beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms well-fittec out with hot, powerful showers, and the seating area is really sociable.
We had lovely weather and were able to make full use of the lovely pool and the massive garden.
David and Lydie are great hosts - there if you need them, they have thought of everything to make their guests feel comfortable, but they are also discrete so you have privacy.
The house is well-placed for visiting Rochefort, Saintes, La Rochelle, Bourges - amongst other places, but we were also very happy just to relax in the garden. We hope to return soon!

We enjoyed our stay in this large, spacious and well-equipped cottage in a quiet rural location within easy reach of the of interesting historical sights, coastal resorts and offshore islands in Charente-Maritime. We were warmly received by Lydie and David and had a very relaxing holiday. Thoroughly recommended.
