From the cottage you can walk to the Appalachian Trail, soak in the mineral waters at the Hot Springs Resort & Spa, enjoy a laid back evening listening to music at Big Pillow Brewing, grab breakfast at our favorite local spot, the Smoky Mountain Diner. All are within walking distance, making the Blue Heron one of the most convenient locations to stay while you are in town. Excellent location in a tranquil neighborhood and a very easy walk to downtown and the A.T. This is a spacious well-equipped cottage with a great porch overlooking a beautiful creek. We’ll definitely be back for another stay!

Accommodations were fine. However, the problem with the smoke alarm was very disruptive, and cause us to lose a nights sleep. As I stated, the alarm began chirping around 1:00 am. It continued to chirp at 15 minute intervals until the owner arrived around 9:00 am. Needless to say, we were extremely tired. This affected our activities for the rest of the day. We believe that we should receive a rebate for a portion of our rental payment.
