About this villa rental
Villa Bracchi is a stunningly restored property sitting on 2.4 Ha (6 acres) located in the Alta Langa closest to the villages of Dogliani, Bossolasco, Monforte d'Alba, Barolo, Serralunga d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra, and Alba. I purchased my first property, Villa San Lorenzo (VRBO #93138) in 2005 and it has been such a wonderful experience that I decided to purchase this property in the Spring of 2014 because of it's unique location providing incredible views of the Italian Alps, lots of privacy, and easy country road access to the best that the Langhe region has to offer with some of the most authentic, and highly acclaimed, restaurants and wineries within minutes from the Villa.
I kept the incredible structure of Villa Bracchi in tact while completely rebuilding (gutting) from the ground up including a new foundation, raising the ceiling height on all levels, new interior walls, and a beautiful open wood beam vaulted roof. I have spared no expense in creating each bedroom and bathroom with elegance and charm and modernity. Absolutely every inch of the Villa has been restored by hand using natural stone, sandstone, and wood recovered and restored from the original structure.
There are hardwood floors throughout the entire Villa as well as luxurious rain showers tiled with carrara marble in each bathroom. Each bedroom has a private balcony or terrace.

Clay and Erika have created something truly extraordinary with this place. It’s clear it’s not just a corporate rental hoping to give you the cheapest of everything. It’s thoughtfully designed, gorgeous, and well appointed. Beyond the beauty of the location, house, furnishings, and design, Clay goes above and beyond to provide local knowledge, wines, and experiences. We were lucky enough to enjoy some wine from their cellar, truffle hunting, and an extraordinary pizza night (it’s an understatement to think of this as just pizza). We were there with young children who also had a blast in the pool and — luckily — we all slept well due to thick walls and lovely bedrooms. Wish we could keep it a secret!!!

I am not one who typically writes reviews but I really couldn't have asked for a better home to spend a few nights in Piemonte. The house was big enough to have intimacy amongst friends and couples staying with us, warm enough to bring us all together to raise a glass, knife, and fork. The house felt like a home and we only wish it wasn't November and we could have spent more time relaxing by the pool. Can't wait to come back. Miss it already.

Clay, the owner is a food and wine photographer, and every corner of the villa he renovated looks like a picture from a cookbook. The kitchen is equipped in a way that every food lover dreams of including a huge outdoor pizza oven. In the entire villa, every detail is taken into account for perfect comfort, each bedroom has an attached bathroom. Everyone has their privacy, and the common spaces allow for lovely moments together. The spaces are large and bright. There are air conditioners but we didn't turn them on even though we stayed there in August, the house is cool and pleasant, because it is located on the side of a mountain and the view is the main star. From every balcony in every room and especially from the huge pool you will see an endless view of green mountains. Clay was lovely and helpful with restaurants, wineries, supermarket, wine shop, butcher etc all within 10-15 minutes from the villa. This is the place for a perfect vacation in Piedmont. We would love to go back there.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Villa Bracchi. This is a very special place with an exceptional host. Clay is a warm, hospitable owner who communicated quickly to answer our questions in the months and weeks before we arrived and during our entire stay. He was at the house to greet us when we arrived, and came to say good bye when we left. He made us feel like we were family.
We booked this house far in advance to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. We were not disappointed. The house is beautifully furnished with comfortable bedrooms, baths and a kitchen well-equipped for cooking. Every morning we woke up and looked out the large picture window in our bedroom to breathtaking views of the valley and the mountains in the distance. The pool and outdoor areas are wonderfully maintained and outfitted, and Clay even made a special trip to the house one day to make sure our grandchildren had pool toys. Since we were arriving late in the afternoon on the first day of our stay, we asked Clay to help us arrange a welcome meal, and he had Rosaria, his Italian Nonna, cook for us. The meal was delicious, and we had many leftovers.
Clay had wonderful recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Most of the restaurants he recommended were 10-15 minutes by car. A car is important because the house is up a hill and nothing is within walking distance.
We cannot recommend this beautiful home enough. You won't be disappointed

This beautiful villa is the perfect place for anyone looking for an authentic and tranquil Italian experience.
From the stunning views of the Langhe region, to the wonderful wines and exquisite cuisine, this villa truly has it all. The private Chef on hand made it possible for us to indulge in some of the most sumptuous Italian meals you could imagine. And the truffle hunting experience was truly unforgettable!
Of course, being able to make your own pizza in the outdoor pizza oven is something that everyone should experience when in Italy at least once. And when you wanted to relax, you could take a dip in the inviting pool, or simply sit back and take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
All in all, I can highly recommend this 17th century Italian Dream Villa in Bonvicino, Italy to anyone looking for the ultimate Italian holiday experience. You are sure to be enchanted by the breathtaking views, delicious wines, and unforgettable memories that await you.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this property in Bonvicino. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer - wonderful pool, huge meals in the spectacular kitchen, scenic vistas, and close enough for day trips to all the Langhe sites. Clay was delightful, attentive, and helpful to us in navigating all of our needs. House was spotless and a modern oasis in the Italian countryside. Could not have asked for more and has my highest recommendation!

A stay at Bracchi is so much more than just the most beautiful home in the most beautiful of locations; it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in everything that the Piedmont has to offer. We found Bracchi to be the perfect place to relax after a week of sightseeing in Italian cities. The house, pool and grounds are meticulous, and we took full advantage of the well stocked gourmet kitchen and pizzza oven! Clay and Erica made us feel like family, and went out of their way to introduce us to the best of the area. If you are lucky enough to stay here, make sure to take advantage of some of the experiences that Clay can arrange for you. He scheduled an amazing pasta making class, a private wine tasting, a visit to the market and even picked up some local speialities to have waiting for us when we arrived. We loved Bracchi so much that we extended our stay and will return as soon as we can!! Thank you Clay, Erica and family for making our stay at your beautiful home the highlight of our Italian Vacation!

Everything about this property is amazing. From the exceptional communication and care that Clay and Erica provided throughout our stay, to the house itself and its surrounding area, this is absolutely unimprovable. The house actually is as good as it looks in the photographs - the bedrooms and bathrooms are of the quality you'd find in a top hotel, the swimming pool overlooking the valley is spectacular and the kitchen is top-quality with everything that you could possibly need. There's a massive dining area too with great views towards the Italian Alps. We didn't go out much as we visited in Covid-time but also as the house is so welcoming and comfortable that there wasn't any need to. A fantastic stay - thanks so much.

We were a family of 6 adults and 3 children (ages 8 years, 5 years and 2 years). Clay's home in Bonvicino was perfect for us. It is a beautifully restored 17th Century villa, with all the modern day amenities that you could need on holiday, including wi fi and a heated pool! It is nestled in the hills of Bonvicino - and is set in the midst of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was just what we needed - and the autumn colours added to the magical setting.
The three bedrooms on the ground floor were ideal for my son (2 years) (Clay provided a crib and high chair), my parents, and my wife and I. My brother and sister-in-law, and their kids took the two bedrooms on the upper floor.
The large living room and open plan kitchen was where we spent our time together as a family, enjoying our wine, meals and getting a chance to cook together.
Nearby Dogliani (approximately 15 to 20 minutes driving time from the villa, depending on the fog) had a lot of restaurants and big supermarkets where we could buy our provisions.
We spent our days in the beach town of Noli, the vineyards and wineries of Barolo, Monforte D'Alba, La Morra, Nieve and Alba (the International White Truffle festival was an added bonus). It was very easy to drive to all these places from the villa.
Communication with Clay was never a problem. He is passionate about a lot of things, including in particular photography, food, wine and travel - my entire family enjoyed spending time with him and getting his insights on so many different subjects. Clay has a lot of wonderful recommendations for places to visit, things to see and do, and places to eat and drink. We could rely on his suggestions with our eyes closed. On our last day, he even took us for a traditional Italian lunch (which lasted four hours!) - and the food and wine was spectacular. There wasn't a single dull moment.
I would highly recommend this villa. I know that my family and I shall return to it very soon!

Piemonte is beautiful and there is so much to explore. Do get out to eat and drink and enjoy all that is available in the region but make sure you make time to enjoy Clay's villa. The quality of finish is superb and the furnishing and decoration make the place feel like that hip home you never quite got around to creating. We stayed in for a couple of evenings, cooked food and made bread and thoroughly enjoyed all that the house had to offer. Best of all is Clay's hospitality. He is generous with his time and his contacts. Bravo!

The house is magnificent, the pictures don't render it justice. The kitchen is professional, the rooms are large, each one has its own bathroom as 5-star hotels would. Clay is a great host, always present if needed, answers immediately through WeChat. Highly recommended.
