About this chalet rental

Detached chalet of over 130 m2, on a plot of 40 acres, up to 7 people. It has 2 large bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with double bed and sofa bed for 2 very good quality. An extra bed completes the sleeping capacity. Both bathrooms are equipped with toilets and showers. The kitchen, spacious, has a complete equipment (washing machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine ...).
The living room, spacious, will allow the winter to spend long evenings by the fire (Swedish stove). It is also equipped with a television (DTT) flat screen and a DVD player.
After a hike or a day of skiing, the warmth of the sauna and the scents will eliminate fatigue and make you forget the stresses of daily life!
A very large balcony, equipped with garden furniture, takes you among trees and birds with a complete change of scenery (no vis-à-vis).
From the cottage, you will go for a walk to the various massifs of this little wild and secret valley. If you know to be discreet, no doubt you will come across the early morning or at dusk Master fox, deer and deer (just listen to the belling of deer late September!) and certainly will see at any time of the day the growing number of chamois (massif Herrenberg and Wormsa).

At the end of a small village, overlooking the green valley, no visible neighbours, just perfect to get away with the family. Start walking or cycling from the doorstep and come back to a nicely heated house with fireplace and sauna, what more can you want?

I stayed here for a week with my mum and wife in August and it was fantastic. The house was very comfortable and had everything you could need for an easy week of cooking at home, barbecuing and taking it easy on the balcony. The house has its modern parts and it's traditional parts but both blend in nicely. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the ground floor bedroom is particularly cool in the hot days. The valley itself has numerous hikes that take you off into all directions as I found out. Due to the hot weather, we really wanted to swim in the lakes but the lakes around the house are not easily accessible by foot. Due to my mum's age, long hikes were not so possible. Lake Schiessrothried takes about an hour and twenty minutes walking from Mittlach centre, or if you drive to Gaschney it takes about 40 minutes. We didn't make it to Lake Altenweiher, as that was another 40+ minute hike. I think if you can endure the hike, then you deserve your swim!! The lakes that we could drive to were Lake Longemer, which was beautiful, but as with most trips it took about 40 minutes to drive there, but definitely worth it. Beautiful clean water. Also Lake Kruth-Wildenstein, which was okay, but a little murkier than Longemer. There is plenty to explore in area. There is the market in Munster and the amazing storks that are everywhere, roosting in the rooftops. Colmar, is also a short trip away, and well worth a trip to see the lovely colourful houses. All in all, a beautiful vacation in a lovely house in a wonderful location.

We just finished up a 9 day stay in the cabin in the beautiful Alsace region. The cabin was the perfect retreat after exploring the area. It was clean, cozy, and felt like home. The surrounding villiages were a delight to explore as were the trails. We ventured out to Germany and Switzerland on day trips as well. We fell in love with the area and intend on returning. We are so pleased that we chose this cabin for our trip.

We, including our dog have very much enjoyed our stay at this home, which lies in a wonderful, restful natural environment. Enough activities to do as well, seeing all the hikes you can take on, starting at the camping which is in the near vicinity of this chalet. Colmar is worth visiting, as well as taking a drive to le grande ballon or col de la schlucht. Especially when it is snowing it provides you with enough leisure activities. Many thanks Mr and Mrs Arnaud Gerber for you hospitality.
