About this cottage rental
The Annexe is a cosy one bedroom detached converted dairy building near Witney with high ceilings and a large kitchen/living room with access to a large garden. It is part of a set of converted farm buildings in a rural location just outside Witney, nearby Brize Norton, and provides a perfect base to explore Oxford and the Cotswolds. The Annexe is furnished to a high standard and has private access, as well as off-street parking for up to 2 cars. The kitchen living area has a fully equipped kitchen, extendable dining table and chairs, and a 3-seater sofa. There is a Smart TV and a music system (Wi-Fi enabled). The bathroom has a large bath with a shower and the bedroom has a double bed and plenty of cupboard space.
Dogs are welcome in this pet friendly holiday home and there is a one-acre garden and a further one-acre field for them to run around.
Please note there is some building work being carried out on a nearby barn from mid April to the end of June. There will be minimal disruption, however guests might notice some workmen in the vicinity. Please do ask us for any further information on this.

It is private to the cottage and is not overlooked by the main barn and if the owner of the main barn is away, guests are welcome to use the table and chairs by the main barn which overlooks the garden

The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided
Off street parking is available for up to 2 cars
Travel cots and highchairs are not provided, so guests will need to bring these with them

Plane spotting can be enjoyed on-site from the neighbouring RAF Brize Norton and all the excitement this brings with it
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

A security deposit is required at this property
Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00

This is our third visit to this location it is conveniently placed between both Burford and Witney, and the building was very warm and comfortable especially as the weather was cold.
One of the reasons we like the location is there is a large field next to the annex which is self contained and my spaniel enjoyed his freedom. One slight disavan̈tage is it is on the flight path to Brize Norton so low flying aircraft and night flying is possible but being an air enthusiast great photo opportunities.

The annexe is spacious and well equipped. The shared garden is large and secure, however there was some work undertaken during ourstay and a gate was removed.
The level of cleanliness was fairly good (bedding, cutlery, crockery, bathroom suite, hardfloors etc) however the rugs were hairy, the freezer was iced up and contained bags of ice left by previous visitors, I found this unpleasant, and the oven could have done with a little clean. The extractor was visibly very dusty and the high level dusting had been neglected, leaving trailing dust over the shower and bed etc.
We were surprised the annexe didn't have a door to the bathroom.
And we found the bed uncomfortable, a little too firm for us and pillows too flat, but it's all personal preference.
We quite liked the locatiom however the instructions could be better as we drove up the wrong access road and then there was no signage for the farm/barn/annexe. The annexe front light did not work which did not help us
either, for arrivals after 5pm in winter if the outdoor light is not working an indoor one should be left on. A couple of interior lights also did not work.
And we thought the two chewed up squirrels were really odd and unhygenic to leave out like they were decor?
This sounds negative but we did enjoy ourselves, and the majority are really easy and quick fixes.

Lovely cottage which was so warm and cosy with the underfloor heating. Loved the fluffy towels, the garden and field were brilliant for our dog. So well equipped - the dishwasher was a bonus, and the small freezer on the surface ideal for our needs.
Our only negative was the frequent planes which passed over very noisily. We had read that the flight path was over head but hadn't realised the frequency of them, even at night. The main problem with this was our dog who felt they had to be chased away and got himself quite worked up.

Clean and functional property. Note states no dogs on bed or sofa which we quite agree with but very hard to police with no internal doors!! Luckily we were out and had a crate for bed time but it was hard work. Also no where to let the dog run free by himself outside.
