About this cottage rental
MODERN WOODED ELEGANCE IN THE EXCLUSIVE WALDEN ENCLAVE.
Experience the best of Harbor Country at Tallgrass Cottage, a serene 3-bedroom, 3-bath sanctuary tucked away in the private, wooded community of Walden Woods. Located just 70 miles from Chicago, this architectural retreat offers a "deep forest" feel while remaining a short walk from the vibrant energy of downtown New Buffalo and the beach.
DESIGNED FOR LIGHT & SPACE
Step inside and feel the city stress melt away. Tallgrass is defined by its soaring vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and strategic skylights that bathe the open-concept living area in natural Michigan light.
- The Living Space: Features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a seamless flow from the kitchen to the dining area.
- The Activity Loft: A spacious, sun-drenched loft area—perfect for morning yoga, a quiet reading nook, or a dedicated "work-from-nature" station.
- Indoor-Outdoor Harmony: Choose between the open sun deck for morning coffee or the screened-in porch for pest-free evening cocktails.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: SECLUSION & ACCESSIBILITY
While you’ll feel miles away from it all, you are perfectly positioned to explore:
- Downtown New Buffalo: A short, scenic walk to the region's best dining and shops.
- The Lakefront: 1.5 miles to the soft sands of New Buffalo Beach.
- Harbor Country Adventures: Just minutes from world-class wineries, antiquing, championship golf, and the Four Winds Casino.
PLANNING YOUR STAY
- Flexible Booking: Tallgrass Cottage offers a 4-night minimum stay during peak season, making it the perfect choice for a mid-week reset or an extended weekend.
- The Essentials: We provide a high-quality "Starter Kit" (2 rolls of TP per bath, 2 rolls of paper towels, 4 trash bags, and hand soap). For longer stays, we recommend bringing extra laundry/dishwasher soap and firewood for the outdoor amenities.
- Check-in: The primary guest must be 30+ years of age (ID required).
- Community Harmony: We value the quiet nature of Walden Woods. This is a strictly smoke-free and pet-free home. No large parties or family gatherings are permitted.
