This cozy, clean cabin is perfectly located in Shaver Lake’s sought-after East Village. Just 1/4 mile from the lake 🛶 and walking distance to local shops and restaurants 🍽️ — it's the ideal base for your mountain getaway 🌲.Shaver Lake offers the perfect climate — cool summers ☀️ and mild winters ❄️ — and an endless list of outdoor adventures: hiking, fishing , boating , skiing , sledding , horseback riding , snowmobiling, and more!

You have access to the entire home. I'll send you a personalized key code one week before check-in. Access is that easy :)
The cabin is for families and friend getaways only, no parties. We are the owners, not a rental agency. We have neighbors who live next to our cabin year round and we want to respect that.
The Elderberry Retreat is located in the very popular east village and the closest you can get to the lake as far as cabin rentals!

Two-story, 1444 square feet outfitted to suit the needs of a modern vacationer. Beautiful new hardwood flooring throughout! A fully equipped kitchen provides a user-friendly space to cook a meal. A washer and dryer in the cabin are perfect for soggy ski clothes. Entertainment options like flat-screen TVs mean you can cozy up with a good movie next to the fireplace! Large deck with table and chairs in the summertime, with a good cup of joe in hand (complimentary selection of coffee and hot cocoa are offered, of course).
We have a crockpot, waffle maker, and flat griddle great for pancakes or crepes! We have a nice covered bbq area with a charcoal bbq. You will need to bring charcoal. Wifi, 2 flat-screen TVs equipped with Blu-ray players so you can access your fav programs via Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or other, DVD library, bocce ball, corn hole, foosball, and board games.
The cabin has two bedrooms, each with queen beds and dressers. The loft has two double beds and a full pull out couch. New mattresses and linens.
Linens - We DO provide clean linens
Towels - We DO provide clean bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths.
Toiletries - We DO provide shampoo, conditioner, and soap for each bathroom.

As part of our effort to help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide you with the below protection. The cost of this protection has been included in your rental rate and fees and covers you for accidental damages during your stay. The Trust and Safety Fee includes up to $3,000 of coverage for accidental contents damage and up to $500,000 coverage for accidental property damage and bodily injury. The Trust and Safety Fee is refundable only if the reservation is canceled in writing at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the arrival date. Any deductible or minimum claim amount will be the responsibility of the Guest and The Cabin Host will process using the form of payment on file for Guest.
There is no public transportation in Shaver Lake. In the winter you will want a 4 wheel drive vehicle or snow chains.
Things to bring:
Warm clothes. The evenings can get cool even in the summer.
Sun screen, paper plates, napkins. We have plenty of dishes, but do not have a dishwasher. It is nice to have paper plates as an option should you not feel like cleaning up the kitchen:)
Extra newspaper for the fire.

The Elderberry Retreat was the perfect place for our girls’ trip with 8 cousins! From the moment we booked, our host went above and beyond to make our stay special—including generously offering both early check-in and late checkout, which made our trip so much more relaxed and enjoyable.
The cabin is beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The layout was ideal—plenty of room for all of us to gather, while still feeling comfortable and never crowded. We especially loved hanging out on the deck surrounded by trees, cooking big meals together in the kitchen, and playing bocce ball.
The location is picturesque—tucked away, yet just a short walk to restaurants and shops. The host’s thoughtful touches and genuine care made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It’s clear they truly value their guests’ experience.
We left with amazing memories—and we’re already talking about making this an annual tradition!
Highly recommend The Elderberry Retreat for any group looking for comfort, charm, and a peaceful mountain escape.

Our long weekend getaway at the Elderberry Cabin was absolutely perfect. My husband and I treated our family to a Shaver Lake vacation, and we had the best time. We’ve stayed at several different places in Shaver over the years, but this cabin was hands-down the nicest. Everything was updated and in perfect working condition—heat, running water, and all the top-notch amenities we could ever need.
The views were stunning, location was easy- walking distance to town, and we especially enjoyed some fun exploring the area. A surprise highlight was the bocce court—we had such a great time learning and playing the game together. Just a short, scenic hike away, we found the lake, which was peaceful and serene, providing the rest and relaxation we were craving.
We’ve stayed at a few of this host’s other cabins, but this one was immaculate. It truly made for our favorite vacation yet. Thank you to our incredible cabin host—we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at the Elderberry House for a snow weekend with the grandkids. The home was perfect! The check in instructions were helpful, bedding and furniture were comfortable, and the location was perfect. Everything was provided. We will be back.
