About this house rental
FIREFLY is a cozy cottage on a dead end road that will offer you a magical Adirondack lakeside experience.
Firefly sits on the tip of a level sunny grassy peninsula on a 44 acre lake called , Mountain Lake; A beautiful serene lake where you can swim, fish, canoe, kayak, or paddle boat. Our cottage is directly on this beautiful lake. Walk out the door and stroll down to the dock. We can supply you with two kayaks and a canoe or you can bring your own boating toys. Our hammock and dock chairs will assure you of a the complete lake experience that will be magical in all ways. You will be awed by our amazing sunrises and magical sunsets. We will supply you with everything needed for an amazing lakeside get-away. fire pit, grill, pots, pans, TV and internet. This unique lodge is one of the original cabins built in 1880. We have added many modern touches, such as the cathedral bedroom ceilings which overlook the lake, new bathrooms and new a kitchen, but the cabin still reflects its original Adirondack charm. The screened in large porch , overlooking the lake, is perfect for a romantic dinner or for family gatherings. The sunsets over the lake are amazing.
We are a three season cottage. We have a large new dock perfect for your outdoor water sports. The Mountain Lake activities center around the water and we have a beautiful view of the whole lake. The level grounds make easy access to the lake, offering a perfect vacation for our older guests. The July 4th lake fireworks are so spectacular and you will have the best view from your lakeside position. There is a summer 7 day minimum stay with a Saturday to Saturday check in . Please email for discounted last minute stays as well as last minute shorter 3 night stays
Book early for your September Indian Summer vacation or your October fall foliage getaway. 3 night minimum for September and October.
Happily, Firefly is pet friendly. Small dogs under 30 pounds are welcome at $150 extra per dog for the week. Let us know if you plan to bring your pet so we can welcome your pet with a doggie treat. Please, Only dogs that are friendly and non aggressive. Dogs must be on a leash outside the cottage or redistricted to the property boundaries. Proof of rabies shots must be sent prior to arrival.
We will provide the bedding and pillows. You will need to provide your own sheets and towels.
Please bring your own drinking water as we use lake water.

Firefly was exactly what we were hoping for! From the charming & eclectic decor, well equipped kitchen, lovely screen porch, comfy & perfectly sized bedrooms to the perfect living room gathering spot for a movie, catching up or game night— complete with game table! The house is completely appointed with just about anything you could want or need.The outdoor area is amazing with a gas grill, picnic table(s), solar lights & awesome fire pit sheltered by a perfectly placed rock with plenty of seats! The dock also does not disappoint with plenty of comfy chairs & table, a step down for kayak or paddle board loading & two different routes allow you to walk directly into the lake! Mountain lake is a crystal clear, see-to-the-bottom, spring fed lake that is absolutely perfect for swimming, kayaking & paddle boarding. The lake is the focal point for our family & Mountain Lake exceeded our expectations. Linda & Steve were absolutely wonderful, just a text away for any questions & just a delight to rent from! Would highly recommend without hesitation for a peaceful lake centered get away!!

We were looking for a quiet, peaceful, lakefront cottage and Firefly Lodge delivered. We enjoyed coffee on the dock every morning and were joined by the ducks and loons. The highlight for us was watching the supermoon rise over the lake. It seemed like you could reach out and touch it. The owners were great and made sure we had no problems. We hope to be able to visit again
