"Three Steps to the Beach" is a magnificent oceanfront home featuring 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and your very own PRIVATE swimming pool with optional heat! This home is located on the popular West End of Holden Beach with the warm sands only steps away.
With its open-concept living/kitchen/dining areas, there will be enough room for the whole gang to gather together, cooking and eating gourmet meals, or just relaxing together with a cool beverage on the oceanfront deck, all while making sweet memories! You will appreciate the updated kitchen with gas range, wine cooler and Keurig coffee maker. This impressive oceanfront retreat is tastefully decorated and offers a wide variety of amenities.
On the first level you will discover 2 bedrooms, with a 1/2 bath in the hallway for your convenience. Bedroom #1 is complete with a queen size bed, street side view with balcony, and a full private bath with a walk-in shower (no tub). Bedroom #2 is complete with 2 twin size custom bunk beds, TV, street side view with balcony, and a full private bath with a walk-in shower (no tub). On the second level you will discover 3 bedrooms, laundry room, and a second living area with a TV and balcony access. Bedroom #3 offers a Queen size bed, street side view with balcony, and shares a full Jack-n-Jill bath with bedroom #4 (walk-in shower, no tub). Bedroom #4 is complete with 2 queen beds (sleeps 4), oceanfront view, and shares a full Jack-n-Jill bath with bedroom #3 (walk-in shower, no tub). Bedroom #5 offers a king size bed, oceanfront view with balcony, and private bath with jetted walk-in shower and stand-alone tub.
With your own private beach boardwalk you will have quick access to the pristine sandy shores of beautiful Holden Beach! Take a walk on the beach and search for your favorite seashells, do some surf fishing, or relax and unwind as you watch the tide roll in. After your day on the beach, rinse the sand off your feet with the boardwalk rinse shower, or shower in the enclosed outdoor shower, complete with hot & cold water. We loved the house, private pool, and location. However, we gave the house a 4 because of a few issues. The first, and biggest, is the master bedroom shower, leaks down into the first floor bedroom. This is a major problem that needs immediate attention! The second thing, house was not very clean. First floor bedroom shower had mold in it and living room/dining room floor had spilt stains and dirt/dust all over it. One of my grandsons is 11 months old and crawling everywhere. After just a little while, his little knees were black and he was picking up and trying to eat crumbs that had been left from a previous stay. You could also set on one couch and see tons of dust under the other couches. My daughter vacuumed with the vacuum we found in a closet, but it didn’t work very well. We couldn’t find a mop so we had to wipe up spills by hand. Thirdly, none of the showers had hardly any hot water. The only place that did was the master bath tub. And lastly, there was several light bulbs that were burnt out, including pool light, and living room ceiling fan didn’t work. I know this sounds like a lot, but we did have a great vacation! Thank you!

The house was great. Everything about it was very good.Wasn’t there supposed to be a refund of a deposit. I’m pretty sure everything was left in good shape. I have seen nothing.

We really enjoyed our Fall visit to Holden Beach. The house is right on the beach and slept our family well. My only suggestion would be to add dimmers on the overhead lights in the kitchen and family room which are too bright to leave on.

Pros: The house was very nice and was great for a large family. Common area was large and a lot of seating for everyone. Staying beachfront with kids was fantastic. The kids loved the bunk bed room and they spent hours in the pool after each afternoon at the beach.
Cons: There is minimal public parking in Holden Beach and the real estate company managing this property will not allow you any access (even parking) to this property until 4pm on arrival day. Therefore, I would not advise coming any earlier than 4pm. Also, the property is very far from anything other than the beach, therefore no need for a golf cart rental.
The house was surface level clean, but needed a deep clean. One shower had mildew buildup on the tile. There was some other basic cleaning that had not been done on arrival. There was a faint smell of cat urine in one bedroom. The house was also absent of some basics, for instance, the ice maker was inefficient and some kitchen supplies were absent.
Other properties on Holden we have stayed at in the past, were better stocked with greater attention to detail. Overall a great stay, however, would have liked more attention to detail given the amount we paid for the stay.
