About this house rental
Is your family looking to have a relaxing and affordable vacation this year on Topsail Island? Well, we have a home for you! The "Hoot and Holler" duplex is perfect for pet-friendly families who love to enjoy what Topsail Beach has to offer without breaking the bank! This 4-bedroom 3-bathroom duplex is conveniently located within walking distance of beach access on both the ocean and sound side of the Island! The sound side access is only steps away from the house making it super easy for Kayak lovers to get to the water and glide away!
When you first arrive you will find ample parking with spaces available in the gravel driveway on Scott Ave as well as a smaller paved driveway on Channel Blvd. A total of 4 to 5 cars can fit comfortably. Guests can enjoy the yard areas on both sides of the property, but please do not park on the grass in order to prevent damage to the septic field. The home sits on a corner lot which allows guests to enjoy views of our lovely Island from multiple directions! The best view of all is of the stunning Intracoastal Waterway and the breathtaking sunsets that we experience here on Topsail.
The top floor of the property is called "Hoot" and offers 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. You enter this floor through the top deck porch door using your Keyless Access code that will be provided before check-in. You are greeted by the large Kitchen that offers all major appliances and the basics for all of your cooking needs! The full-size stacked washer and dryer are located in the Kitchen for easy guest access. The dining area offers a large table where the whole gang can gather for family meals or epic game nights. The open living room offers a comfortable sectional sofa and a Large Flat Screen SmartTV. Connect to your favorite streaming apps or enjoy 50+ channels using the over-the-air antenna connected to this TV.
Just off the living room, you will find a bedroom on either side of the hall. The first bedroom, on the left, offers a Twin Bunk Bed Set and a King Bed. This bedroom has access to the full shared bath that is centrally located in the hall. The second bedroom is located on the right side of the hall and offers a king-size bed and a private full bath.
The lower level of this property is called "Holler" and offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. You enter this floor through the ground-level door using your Keyless Access code. In a similar layout as the "Hoot" level, you are greeted by a full kitchen and dining area that offers seating for 4. The cozy living room offers comfortable couches and a flat-screen Smart TV. This floor is cooled by window AC units but don't worry, they do the job well and you will be nice and cool throughout your summer stay! During cooler times, electric space heaters are provided to keep guests nice and cozy. Just off the living room, you will find both bedrooms and the full shared bath. The first bedroom offers Two Twin XL Beds and the second bedroom offers a Queen Bed. The full shared bath is centrally located in the hall and offers a shower-tub combo. Guests staying in "Holler" will have access to the garage area where the washer and dryer for the unit are stored.

The location of this property is wonderful with access to the sound just across the street and ocean access 2 short blocks away. The upstairs unit was very nice and clean. There were hardwood floors in beautiful condition and the living room sectional looked new. The built-in microwave in the kitchen was not functioning but a substitute microwave was provided on a rolling cart. The open floor plan was great for family time with a huge dining room table. The downstairs unit was not so nice as upstairs. It appears to be a converted basement or garage with bare concrete floors and throw rugs. The dining room furniture was shabby with no dishwasher in the kitchen. The laundry area is located in the garage and you are given the key to access it. Compared to the upstairs it seemed dark and the rooms were small. You had to keep the window a/c units running constantly along with a dehumidifier which had to be emptied several times a day. I felt bad for our family members that stayed down there but they said it was good enough. I don't think that downstairs would be good to stay in if you had asthma or allergies. This would be a five-star property if the downstairs was as nice as the upstairs.
