This beachfront cottage is a private oasis, perfect for a retreat for a couple, or couple with up to two smaller children. Enjoy all the activity and excitement of the beach and at night, let the sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep.
The Cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood and situated on Twin Lakes State Beach. Easy access to one of the loveliest beaches in the county is just steps away, where walks along the shoreline and sand castles await. You may not want to leave, but it’s also just a short walk or bike ride to the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor, Capitola Village, and the Boardwalk for a day of fun.
Equipped to meet all your needs away from home, the cozy cottage features a queen bed in the bedroom and the living room sofa converts to a fold-down full-sized bed. Amenities include: TV, cable, washer / dryer, microwave, full-sized refrigerator and four-burner stove, separate dining area, single bathroom. Large deck with picnic table and brick-paved BBQ area are the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or dinner overlooking the beach and the crashing waves of the Monterey Bay!

For the price point the property needs to be transparent about the hazard associated with the laundry facilities under the house. It’s a tough space to navigate and with rat poison signage this should be disclosed prior to booking. I work in healthcare and a space where hantavirus might be a risk or if you have a compromised immune system this home is not safe.

The location is 5+ stars as it is beachfront. Great neighborhood with easy access to the beach and great views from the house. That being said, this place needs a DEEP CLEAN. For the money paid I would hope the place would at least be clean. The kitchen was crawling with ants. We couldn’t leave ANYTHING on the counter for more than 30 seconds without tons of ants appearing and half of the food we stored in the open cabinets was ruined by ants which was a bummer. The bathroom also needs a deep clean as the shower was crawling with spiders. Not welcoming after a long day at the beach. There was also someone’s bathroom bag with supplies left in the bathroom when we arrived so that didn’t make us feel great about the degree of cleanliness. The worst part (and this is mother nature’s fault) is a skunk sprayed right outside the front door but because the house is not sealed properly, the entire house reeked with skunk smell on our last night. The front door is also very hard to open which is an accessibility issue.
