A bit of history...
The property is named after the Mozambican term “Maxamba,” which means “small farm.” Our grandfather, José Gomes Pedro, who built this property, lived in Mozambique with our family for several decades, where he became a renowned tropical botanist.
After returning from Mozambique, our grandparents settled in this house, and my grandfather continued studying the flora of the Serra da Arrabida. He wrote books about it and was the first person to identify the unique indigenous plant species, Euphorbia Pedroi, which is named after him.
We have owned the property since 2019, and we want to preserve it in harmony with its natural surroundings while enjoying it with our family and friends.
