About this house rental
Taking its name from the old country dialect word for 'woodpecker', Yaffle Barn is approached at 1st floor level, over a contemporary glass bridge into a spacious living area, with inset woodburner, large comfy sofas and kitchen area, big bifold doors from which you can view the garden, orchard and grazing horses. In addition to large interactive TV and radio, the room is decorated with a striking mix of limewash and Farrow and Ball paints.
The spiral staircase descends to the ground floor where the 2 large bedrooms are found, each with its own large bifold door, ensuite bathroom and Morroccan plaster feature wall, the remaining walls and ceilings finished in Farrow and Ball.
One looks out to the front of the property, the other to the rear, each has its own private seating area, ensuite bathroom with hansgroghe rainshower, and one has a large bath.
Each bedroom is equipped with luxury towels and toiletries, hairdryer, TV and radio, we have our own sheepskins on the floor and each double bed has our own white cowhide bed cover.
The Barn is set in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside adjoining an open access Wildlife reserve for circular walks from the doorstep.
The Wye Valley, Usk river and fishing, Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat, Cardiff and Bristol all within easy striking distance,
We are within10 minutes from the lovely town of Usk, and have a fabulous pub ( The Greyhound) a 40 minute walk from the property
The Snug adjoins Yaffle Barn at first floor level and the two can be booked together to provide accommodation for 8-10 guests . The 2 Barns share a large garden, but each has it's own private seating area.
You are welcome to roam the rest of the garden in addition to the surrounding Wildlife Reserve.
There is a lovely pub ( the Greyhound ) with great food within walking distance.

Tea, Coffee, Hot Choc, Oil, Vinegar and condiments supplied
If 6 people are staying 2 are accommodated on one of the 3 large comfy sofas, one in the red bedroom and the other 2 in the living space which may not suit everyone,
Dog towels, mat and poo bags are supplied together with a crate if needed
Dogs incur a one off charge of £25 per stay
You can bring your own horse!

This is a beautiful barn. It was fabulously kitted out with everything we needed. The bedrooms are particularly comfortable, with high quality bedding.Ellie is a great host; very friendly and helpful.

The property was really lovely - everything inside was of a high standard.
Ellie was a great host - she was really helpful with advise on nice places to visit, so was her friend Liz.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
