Beautiful room on the top floor with a view over the rooftops and the sea to Arran. Very comfortable all round and a great position just back from the beach and round the corner from a fab chippy! The manager was very friendly; thank you!

The hotel is situated on a quiet street close to the coast and within five minutes to some lovely restaurants and bars and some local shops . We were in Room 3 on the first floor. It was a lovely room with a big bay window which had a massive king size bed and a single bed in the room, I think it was a family room with an ensuite shower room. We booked this room via Booking.com. It wasn’t cheap, well I don’t think I paid £126 for bed and breakfast The room had a lovely ceiling rose and original coving. The room came equipped with a small fridge, large TV on the wall. Lots of tea and coffee, biscuits and a kettle, bathroom and some toiletries also. The room was clean and the bed was relatively comfortable.

So, when we arrived the man who opened the door didn’t introduce himself just gave us the key and told me which key was for what and gave me a piece of paper with breakfast info telling me that our choices had to be in by 8pm that eve. We had 3 slots of times that we could attend (it was only when we went down the next day we found out why and it was because the dining area was tiny, really it should have been explained and it would have eased less tension. I also don’t like the fact that you have to choose your food the night before as you can’t predict how hungry you’re going to feel the night before for the morning after. The breakfast choices are great but although I chose eggs and salmon, I ended up leaving it as I wasn’t as hungry so it was waste for them. Anyway , there were 3 choices of cereals and marmalade with toast as well. The room however was freezing when we got here at 5:15 so I went back downstairs to ask how we put the heating on and he said, oh well I will just have to put the heating on, a little surprised by this comment as really I feel you should make your patron as comfortable as possible, I think by the look of my face he must’ve realised I was disappointed and then he said oh it’s due to come on now anyway. The room didn’t actually heat up for another 45 minutes the radiator in the bathroom wasn’t working at all and the shower power wasn’t great either. I had to go down to find out about the Wi-Fi the owner again told me it was in the pack!! Well what pack? The info was under a magazine which he never told us about. I just feel that when we arrived if he introduced himself gave us a little bit of information about the hotel, instead of me going up and down the stairs like an idiot our day would’ve been a little more enjoyable saying that, after breakfast, he seemed a little more pleasant, maybe he had a better sleep. Not sure if we just got him on a bad day or if he wasn’t feeling well, Would I stay here again, no
