About this cottage rental

A short distance from scuba diving, whale-watching, and more, this beach cottage lets you experience it all. You'll easily make the 18-minute drive to Paul do Mar Beach or the 19-minute drive to Ponta Do Sol Beach.

After you return to this 646-sq-ft cottage, you can unwind at the beach (enjoy the sun loungers!), chill by the communal pool, or sip a drink in the garden; you may also like the porch or lanai. As for the great indoors, you can come inside and enjoy the free WiFi, cable/satellite TV, and stereo.

As you settle into this 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom rental, you'll find a safe, air conditioning, and a desk. Bathroom amenities include a hair dryer, towels, and toilet paper. The kitchen is equipped with a stovetop and a refrigerator, as well as a coffee maker, an electric kettle, and an ice maker. And you won't have to pack extra clothes, because you'll have a washer and dryer, too.

A 5 star hotel this is not but a quaint and beautiful place to stay, with unbeatable views, it most certainty is. Nelson is absolutely second to none in the host stakes; a font of local information and recommendations for places to go, shop, eat like a local and enjoy every minute in Madeira.Calhetta is a great base to explore the island from. With a car, you can go anywhere; we went to Funchal and the main attractions there, up over the top of the island to the pools in Porto Moniz and intonthe interior to visitvthe Lavadas.If youre coming to Madeira you know (hopefully) that there's lots of walking and none of it is easy going. The slopes are steep and the steps go on and on so be prepared. For all that, and the 100 or so steps to and from your front door at Viewpoint House, this was an experience not to be missed.Thank you Nelson, for hosting us and your unquestionable generosity and kindness. You are truly one of a kind.
