About this cottage rental
Information on exploring the farm, how and when to meet and feed the friendly farm animals, information on the guests share garden, orchard and walks is supplied to guests. We live on site, so are on hand if you need assistance, however our house office area is not accessible to guests. 'Farm Tours' are available to guests at a mutually suitable arranged time.

Johanna River Farm & Cottages - www.johanna.com.au - is located at the foot of the Otway National Park - just off the Great Ocean Road ~ midway between Apollo Bay & the 12 Apostles. It is central to all the highlights of the Great Ocean Road & the Otway National Park. Johanna Beach, a step on & step off point for the Great Ocean Walk, is just 4 kms down the road. Our 280 acre working farm & four fully self contained cottages offer the perfect location to base yourself if you're wanting to explore the coast & forests of this region. If you're looking for genuine farm stay accommodation on the Great Ocean Road then this will not disappoint.
Holidaying with kids is ideal as our two bedroom cottages are well equipped & there is lots to do in the region. Each cottage has beautiful ocean, valley & farmland views, are fully self contained & fully equipped. Our one bedroom cottages provide couples with a picturesque, peaceful escape, with all the comforts, & a truly secluded location.
Group Accommodation Great Ocean Road : Travelling in a large group? Each two bedroom cottage can accommodate up to 5 people and our one bedroom cottages can accommodate up to 3 people. (remember not to exceed these numbers (don't enter 6 or more people) when using our availability calendar/book button otherwise the availability calendar/book button will show not available - contact us by phone or email to clarify if needed). Our cottages are popular with larger social or family groups who holiday together. Enjoy the large common lawn & garden area which encircles 3 of the cottages as well as enjoying the comforts & extra amenities when booking multiple cottages.
We are `pet friendly' so the family pet is very welcome! Conditions apply. Just let us know in advance if you are "holidaying with your pet"

Quiet, clean and comfortable. The cottage had a beautiful outlook, and amazing bird life in the area. A great place to stay while doing the Great Ocean Walk. Lovely hosts.

We had a fabulous stay at Johanna Beach Cottage Farm Stay.
The cottage was so cosy with the fire and quaint with its timber lined decor, it had everything we needed for our short stay.
Our host Helen showed us around the farm, we had fresh eggs collected from the chicken coop and we met the farm dogs, goats and pet sheep. We even spotted a koala up in a gum tree on the farm. That was a definite highlight. So much to do in the region too, we took a walk on Johanna beach not far away and visited the 12 Apostles and also drove into Apollo Bay to see the marathon runners. We also brought our dog who was a little too fascinated with the farm goats.
Highly recommend for a long weekend getaway!

The cottage impressed upon arrival - balcony overlooking the rolling hills with a view of the ocean provided a great spot to sit, read, relax, enjoy a cup of tea or meditate.
Helen was a delight to chat to and was very accommodating.
The farm animals and wildlife were just the icing on the cake.
It is obvious there has been a lot of thought, care and love put in to the experience.

My family had an amazing time at the farm! The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable, the cabin was clean and well-appointed, and the environment and views were stunning. We will definitely return to revisit the animals and continue to explore the surrounding sights.
