Come on and book your vacation at Manatee Cove in Marathon, the heart of the Florida Keys! In addition to your private pool with a hot tub, we also offer a beautiful outdoor living area complete with your own Tiki Hut with a TV - enjoy outdoor living at it's finest!
Our waterfront, single-family home, affectionately named “Manatee Cove”, offers 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and plenty of dock space for your boat with quick ocean access! This tastefully furnished Keys home is located on a quiet side street in a residential neighborhood on the Atlantic side of the Island, just 3 houses from open water.
The open living and dining room space is great for gathering with plenty of seating for everyone … a great environment to sit back, relax, and talk about your daily and upcoming adventures!
Being just a short distance from the Atlantic, you’ll be diving, snorkeling, or have your lines in the water in no time! If you don’t have a boat of your own, there are plenty of rental services or guide services in the area. When you aren’t out enjoying our beautiful Atlantic Ocean or your private pool and hot tub, you’ll enjoy a host of other entertainment options…you will be minutes from Sombrero Beach, Turtle Hospital, Crane Museum and just a short drive to the Dolphin Research Center or Aquarium where you will learn about the wonderful sea life in the area. We recently splurged and took the ferry over to Dry Tortugas from Key West - they book almost 6 months in advance so if you are reading this and want to try something different, look into this day trip! You'll be back in time to catch a dinner reservation in Key West before you head back to your home base of Marathon (about 45 min - 1 hr).
In case you can’t get to the outdoors or to our sites or are winding down in the evenings, we have a large screen smart TV in the living area (and in one of the bedrooms) to watch a few of your favorite shows.
There are so many great restaurants to try in the area, it will be hard to pick a night to stay in and cook on your own. But if you do, you’ll find that our kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials. You’ll appreciate the up to date appliances and Corian countertop with plenty of room to prep! Of course, we provide standards: A coffee pot, Keurig, toaster, blender, and plenty of serving dishes.
Upstairs has three bedrooms: One with a King bed, large screen TV, lots of closet space and sliding glass doors to access the outside; the second has a queen bed and the third has two twin beds. The main level has a bedroom with a queen bed and a private bathroom.
Our outdoor living area provides a gas grill and even a bait freezer for your convenience. Additionally, the dock has a cleaning station, electricity, and water.

Note also that if you have a large group, we have another property two doors down, just 5 houses from the ocean. Look for our sister property, Turtle Cove! This stunning 3br/2ba home with pool, tanning ledge, and hot tub makes for a perfect large group gathering. Between the two properties, we can accommodate up to 18 guests - the VRBO number for Turtle Cove is 1750586.
Note that we may offer last-minute discounts to fill unexpected openings. If you do have a reservation you made in advance, the discount does not apply as it's intended to fill last-minute vacancies only.
Generally, we rent our home Saturday to Saturday from mid-February to the first week of April; all of June, July, and mid-August. We have the flexibility for mid-week stays during the offseason.
Boat size: 30' or less only. The depth of the canal coming in and going out is shallow but has markers. With a 30' boat or less, you will not have issues except during king tides at low tide only. If you are an experienced boater, you can get in and out of our canal no problem.
Pets: Small dogs only. It's an extra $25/day (plus tax) per pet. VRBO has a field to indicate a pet but if you have more than 1, please ask approval and we will add on the extra pet charges. The system is limited to one fee. If you are unsure, don’t add your pet in now, we will do it later when you decide.
Occupancy: Rates are based on the standard occupancy which is 8. You may have up to 10 by ordinance but we charge additional occupancy fees in this case. If you are unsure of your total, book with 8, then update us when you know.

We loved everything about this amazing house! The pool, hot tub, and tiki hut were a highlight for us. There was plenty of space. The bedrooms were lovely and we enjoyed the decor. They had everything we needed and communication was phenomenal. We hope to come back next year!

We went down for Christmas last year was awesome. Communication with the host was great needed a dog crate to help me out just really easy-going and really a great experience beautiful property.

We so enjoyed the outdoor space! The kids enjoyed the heated pool and we adults loved the hot tub. The pool/Tiki hut area was so charming at night too with the ambient lighting and pool lights. And true to the listing's name, we actually saw 4 manatees swimming down the canal that the home backs up to. The home has charming beach decor and was very comfortable, and you could not beat the location- close to everything we wanted to do including Sombrero Beach, the Turtle Hospital, the Dolphin Research Center, indoor surfing and fun shopping. Two major grocery stores only 5 minutes away. It was convenient but also a quiet, restful location. We would book it again!

This was a fantastic stay for the seven of us. Two paddle boarded to the Atlantic, two also jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. We cooked most nights on the stove and the grill. I want to say we nearly never stayed inside. The pool was a perfect size, and one couple wants to put one at their house just like it. We fished (caught three) off the dock, lounged in the pool (loved the umbrella) and spent much time under the tiki hut. The house is so close to everything, including the grocery, the dive shop and the tax office for our fishing licenses. Gail was so quick to respond to every message we sent, and made the whole trip stress free. This is the first house we ever said we’d go back to. Thank you so much for such a good time.
