About the home

“The Shack” is a beautifully appointed, light filled, water view from a distance home in Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The ground floor entry leads up a few steps to a large open-plan kitchen / dining / living room (with smart TV, CD and DVD player), leading onto an undercover outdoor deck area with distant water views. On the entry level, there are four spacious bedrooms; the master bedroom has an en-suite with shower. There is a main bathroom (with shower and bath), and a separate toilet. Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 all have BIR. Finally, there is a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine and clothes dryer) with access to outside area. The lower ground floor has a second Living room (with smart TV & DVD player) and lounge opening to a second undercover deck, as well as a double Garage.

Outdoor Areas

Outdoor living is catered for as well, with a shady deck opening off the dining room. This delightful space is equipped with a gas BBQ and outdoor setting as well as a sun lounge. The under covered deck downstairs also has a table and two chairs. A double garage is supplemented by a long driveway with parking for three extra vehicles or a boat at the bottom of the driveway (not covered).

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, an Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and gas cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home has two reverse-cycle split system air-conditioning units (one in each living room), plus separate heaters in each bedroom. There is a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and stand-alone fans in all the other bedrooms.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 7 beds, accommodating up to 8 guests:

Bedroom 1: One King bed
Bedroom 2: Two King single beds (can be converted into one King bed on request)
Bedroom 3: One Queen bed
Bedroom 4: One set of Tri-bunks and one Single bed

Please note: The Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it.
Please note that if you want the King Single beds to be converted into a King bed prior to your arrival, we need at least one week's notice before checking in.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.

Property large enough to accommodate all 10 of us & 2 lounge rooms was a great addition. Property clean and easy to manage. We would of loved to spend more time on the deck… just too cold this trip .

This house is fantastic! As our second stay, we were as impressed as the first time and plan to return again in the future! We loved the location as a base for walking into town and experiencing Cowes. For our group of four friends we found the house itself spacious, comfortable and well equiped.
