All the charm of Périgord ...holiday house near Bergerac with your pets

We stayed for 6 weeks with our 2 small dogs. The garden was large and fully fenced, but not entirely secure for small dogs who could get under the gates. Bigger dogs would be fine. The house is all on one level, with a modern bathroom, two comfortable double bedrooms and an open plan lounge, kitchen/diner with log burner.Ideally situated in a small village with easy access to all the beautiful sites nearby. Fantastic restsurant in the village.

We stayed the Alienor gite, just outside the lovely village of Lanquais near the Dordogne river. Our host Ann is really excellent host. The house is excellent - all the comforts of home, plenty of space, great welcome supplies, spotlessly cleane, nice and cool in the really hot recent weather and excellent value for money. The site up on the side of a wooded hill was really quiet and relaxing, had great views and lovely countryside or riverside walks. The large private garden and facilities solely for our use was brilliant. Ann is always available for very helpful info, tips and suggestions without in any way being intrusive. Indeed, they really added a lot to our holiday experience and enjoyment. We and our dog for lovely walks in the countryside and was a real joy. Many thanks to all three of you. The village of Lanquais within easy driving distance (3.5 km )of the house, had all the facilities you could want - realy nice restaurants, supermarket, fuel station, pharmacy, range of local shops, canoe hire centre, etc. We really enjoyed the spectacular locsl scenary on our 8 mile gentle canoe trip down the Dordogne. Truely a great vacation.

Comfortable spacious house and helpful friendly owner for whom nothing was too much trouble. We were able to have a much needed relaxing fortnight sitting in the pretty garden when it was hot or firing up the woodburner when we needed to be cosy. Lanquais is tiny, tranquil and pretty with a lovely welcoming bar/restaurant a few minutes walk away . Nearby are many picturesque "Bastide" towns and loads of other places to visit within reach such as Rocamador. Exactly as described and highly recommended.

We had a good weather. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you would need for self catering. Wi-Fi is good. "Restaurant les Marronniers" in the village was within easy walking distance and correct.
