House / Villa - Villasimius

The owners and the property could not have been any better. Very helpful with the details of the house and very responsive to texts the few times we had questions during our stay. The house has beautiful views and a nice breeze that cools everything down and keeps the bugs away. Just a little drive away from town center it’s a nice change of pace staying outside of Villasimius where it’s so peaceful and quiet and secluded. This villa is a a real gem. Centrally located but in a quiet hill where you can enjoy the perfect evening away from the summer crowds. We had some amazing dinners on the porch, overlooking the sea and the gorgeous mountains. You could even hear the goats in the background, honestly such an amazing perfect location for both families or a romantic getaway! The house is fully furnished with everything you can think of. They also have a Nespresso machine and fresh juices/wine as a welcome gift. Andrea is a great host which made us feel welcome as soon as we got there. We tried some of the "Agriturismi" in the area and really enjoyed the local regional cuisine. They offer a great value set menu for 30€PP including wine and several courses (a very generous appetizer including cheeses, cured meat, grilled veggies etc), 2 different kinds of pastas which normally would be "culgirones" and sardenian gnocchi, slow-cooked local piglet (that was the best I've had, it seriously has so much flavor!!), salad, desserts. We recommend a couple of places: in Castadias, "S'aque Callenti" that has a beautiful unique rural setting and "Sa bigia" in Villasimius. Always call in advance if you want to make a reservation, especially because it takes about 3-4 hours for cooking the piglet. We tried many private beaches and I can honestly say that "Lido Tamatete" and "Maklas" are the best. The first one is best if you have kids, they have a playground as well and it's very kids friendly, well organized and unpretentious. The second one is definitely fancier and a bit on the higher end, the price is about double but you have a proper sun bed and amazing facilities, in a gorgeous setting, perfect for couples. We ended up calling a local family run restaurant for take-aways so we could enjoy some amazing quite dinners after a long day on the beach. You call them in the morning and they preparare the most amazing food for take away like sea food risotto, grilled sea-bream and many other Italian specialties for a very affordable price. Two families can eat for 50 euros, that's a bargain! The place is called "La casereccia" you can call 342 144 2530.
