About this villa rental
Villa Russelia is located in a quiet and private location on the west coast of Rhodes, in the middle of breathtaking scenery which offers the best of both worlds: a view to the magnificent green hills behind the house, as well as to the deep blue of the Aegean Sea.
Placed between the traditional village of Kalavarda and the Ancient City of Kameiros, Villa Russelia is only 400m away from the sandy pebbled beach.
The 4000 m² garden with grass and exotic flowers in the front side, along with seasonal fruits and herbs in the back side, offers something for every taste. A newly-built, spacious swimming pool with stone-like surroundings and luxury sunbeds is waiting for our guests this year. Just next to the pool, in the separate BBQ shed with its grill and traditional wood fire oven, you can organize an unforgettable fiesta around the large handmade wooden dining table.
In the inside, original vintage and modern decorating elements have been skillfully blended together to create a cosy, yet modern and functional living space. Feel free to prepare delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen and invite your loved ones to unforgettable summer nights together in the terrace or around the fireplace during winter time. Wi Fi is provided free of charge and lets you connect with your colleagues and friends at any time.
Outdoor activities offered in the area include kite surfing facilities and organised hiking tours. Traditional Greek tavernas can be found within walking distance from the property. The location is ideal as a starting point for exploring the island of Rhodes: the city of Rhodes with its world famous medieval city can be reached by car in approx. 40 min. (35km), while a beautiful drive through thick forest can take you to the picturesque town of Lindos (70 km) on the other side of the island. Diagoras Airport is just a 15 min. drive away (18km).

We chose this property because it was away from the east side of Rhodes where properties tend to be cheek by jowl and very touristy. It absolutely did not disappoint! Despite appearing to be more "remote", there was a beach bar/taverna within walking distance and others within a short drive.
The views from every aspect of the house were simply outstanding. The gardens, pool, bbq area and other outside areas were of a high standard.
The only negatives that we would highlight are the absence of showers and damaged fly/mosquito screens in most bedrooms. We resorted to using the outside shower because of the absence of stand up showers which was not ideal. A house of this calibre in every other respect, should have a minimum of 2 dedicated showers and I would imagine most holiday makers during the hot summer months, would prefer a shower to a bath. As the house does not have air conditioning, intact mosquito screens are essential and as most are damaged in the bedrooms, this would be problematic in the hotter months, as people could not comfortably leave windows open (to create draughts) without fear of being severely bothered by mosquitos.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the villa well presented and Emmanuel very friendly and responsive. We could not have asked for a better owner. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to return to the villa in the future.
