While the clear winter air or the first spring flowers beckon outside, you can enjoy the mild winter sun on the wind-protected terrace, away from prying eyes, or the soothing warmth in the sun-drenched rooms with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The apartment is also an ideal starting poit for those who value sustainability and prefer to travel by train. It's just a few minutes' walk from good transport links and centally located between the city center, the Brunnenplatz with various shops, bars, and restaurants, the enchanting gardens of Trauttmansorff Castle, and the hiking and ski paradise Meran 2000. Meran is such a beautiful city and this apartment is a great place to see it. The big windows and terraces of this apartment make for fabulous views. This apartment is not only comfortable but sizable. We were also happy to have so much space as we brought a lot of hiking gear and luggage. It is also very close to the pedestrian trails that lead to the city center. Walking to the city center for dinner was great fun. Margarete was kind to explain the places she thought our kids would enjoy most for hiking. She also told us where to find a quick bite and where to go for the great food. She gave us great advice. We travel a lot and this apartment is a winner.

We spent 4 terrific days in Obermais. Already planning a return visit. Apartment is well appointed and close to lots of walks. Pizza at Mosl (a short walk) yummy. Be sure to check out the Trautmann Gardens and the excavation site by the river(where Roman coins were found a few years ago). Margaret very helpful and kind. We loved it!

This is an absolutely brilliant apartment situated in a beautiful part of Merano overlooking the town and the mountains. The apartment is open, clean and well equipped and has three balconies, each with a fantastic view. Not only is one surrounded by jaw-droppingly awesome views of the mountains, but the beautiful sound of birdsong is never far away, making the atmosphere one of total relaxation. It is a short walk from the apartment to nearby Brunnenplatz which has several cafes and restaurants. Particularly good is the Restaurant/Pizzeria Kirchsteiger with an excellent menu and very friendly staff.
The apartment is located in a lovely area which is a pleasure to walk around. It is about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Merano or there is a very good bus service into town. Parking is not a problem, either at the apartment or free in a nearby car park.
The owner, Frau Laimer, is very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of information about the town and surrounding area.
I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment - a great find in a beautiful part of a beautiful town.
