It was nice being at the end of the street with only one neighbor to the east but we didn't hear or see them. The big deck was designed for viewing & privacy. I have a few negatives: 1) when we arrived, the house was very warm (lots of windows) and it smelled like pee. We were going to roll-up the rugs & put them in the garage but they were fastened to the wood floor. I suggest those rugs be professionally cleaned. 2) The mattresses were not comfortable (too hard), 3) The house is over highway 1 & very noisy traffic started every morning around 3AM (LOUD). Probably a lot of construction trucks headed to the Big Sur Hwy 1 road repairs. Too warm to sleep with the doors & windows closed. Just really surprising how noisy hwy 1 can be.

We’ve stayed at almost every hotel in town and dozens of vacation rentals visiting my mom and this house was our favorite so far. Super clean too which is a huge plus. We’ll definitely be back!

The owners continue to upgrade the property, the latest being new patio furniture, living room furniture, and a gas log fireplace. The house isn’t fancy, but is very comfortable. Great location, easy to walk into town, Moonstone Beach. Easy access to Hwy 1 as well. The only knock is that the house is right above Hwy 1. The traffic noise in the day is unavoidable. At night, however, the traffic disappears, and one can hear the ocean and birds. We will be back.
