Pet-friendly and just a 1-minute walk via a private path to a 2 km beach, it’s perfect for seaside strolls. Wake to native birds, enjoy spacious living for family and friends, and unwind with a relaxing bath after exploring Piha’s iconic black sand beach, surf, and rugged landscapes.
Indoor comforts include board games, puzzles, and a telescope for all-weather entertainment. The beach track is just 100 meters away.
Nearby dining includes Aryeh by the Piha Store, Murray at South Piha Surf Club (takeaway), and Brothers Beer & Juke Joint.
For further adventure, the Waitākere Ranges - waterfalls and trails - are a 15-minute drive.
Kawakawa House is your west coast retreat.
Please note the following:
Please supervise children around the bath, as there is a step down into it.
The home features clerestory windows, which may allow natural light into the bedrooms. Guests sensitive to light may wish to bring an eye mask.
The outdoor fireplace, BBQ, and Bluetooth speaker are not available for guest use.
Parking is available for up to three vehicles on the property. Any additional vehicles must be parked on North Piha Road. Please do not park on the right of way.
Pets are welcome. For everyone's safety, please keep dogs on a leash when using the driveway and do not allow them to roam freely around the property.

Beautiful modern house in the trees. A bit form over function though. Some practical issues eg wood was a bit wet, no salt.

This has been one of our favorite houses to stay at in New Zealand! The house design is spectacular! Ocean view, close to the beach, but very private. We loved waking up in the forest.( forest views from both the master bedrooms). The inner courtyard is nice( sheltered from the wind).It would be really fantastic if there was a two person hot tub in this courtyard, or off the back walkway, in the forest.

Beautiful setting.
Disappointed that the floors and windows were not clean throughout the house. We certainly left it a lot cleaner than we found it.
The fire was fantastic at warming the whole house.
