Villa was beautiful. Loved the pool and outdoor areas for dining. Most everything we needed was provided by the host. Easy train ride into Florence or other parts of Tuscany.
If you are staying here, would highly suggest a car. Train station is not really walkable and taxi service can be unreliable.

I celebrated my birthday at Villa La Falterona with all my family, My husband, 4 children ,wives and husband and my two year old grandson. This was one of the best family celebrations we’ve ever had.
Domizzio help me with every detail during the time we spent in his beautiful Villa.
La Falterona is more than the pictures and descriptions I read. Everyone had their own bedroom with air conditioning, and very comfortable king beds.
The kitchen is fully equipped even for an expert cook.
For my birthday we had a chef come to the house, Lucciano gave us a cooking class , that we all enjoyed and latter he prepared a wonderful dinner for us. Nella the housekeeper, helped setting a beautiful dinner table .
The pool area is perfect, specially for the high temperatures we had, my grandson enjoyed so much after long days exploring.
We did a lot of day trips around the Toscana, the train is only minutes away and connects you to any town just in minutes ( firenze 18 min.).
Thank you Domizzio for helping us with our Life Celebration in a real Tuscan Villa. We all definitely will return.

The property is AMAZING! It is a true family home and does not feel like a rental. Our group is already making plans to return. Here are the quick pros, cons and recommendations:
Pros:
- the property is awesome!!!!!
- onsite caretaker is Nella. She is adorable but speaks no
English
- Homeowner (Domizio) is your contact and WhatsApp is his
preferred method of contact. He is very helpful and
provides you information and suggestions before you
arrive.
- Domizio makes delicious wine and olive oil from the
property
- 1 hour drive to Florence, Lucca, Siena, Chianti, etc.
- convenient train ride to Rome and Venice
- Lastra a Signa is a quaint town (although traffic is a
problem)
- Town has a major market (Coop) but definitely seek out the
2 butchers and Vini Bellini (unique wine shop).
Cons: things to mention but NOT a problem
- there is a rifle range very close to the property. We heard
gunfire Friday and Sunday morning, and ALL day Saturday
(just make plans to do a day trip on Saturday)
- shower drains and kitchen sink get clogged (no garbage
disposal). Remember the house is 300+ yrs old, but this is
part of the charm
- Mosquitoes are a problem based on time of year. Make sure
you have spray and use the citronella plug-ins (provided)
- be sure to bring a variety of electric adapters.
Recommendations:
- If you like to cook definitely eat in. We went to the market
and butcher daily on our way home from our day trips. The
kitchen is well equipped (needs a knife sharpener).
- Buy Domizio's wine and olive oil. It is reasonably priced and
he ships
- Hire Chef Luciano for your last night. The dinner was
fantastic, but you don't want to worry about cleaning the
kitchen the next morning.
Bottom line is this property is spectacular! This was our first time in Tuscany and couldn't be any happier with our decision to stay at Villa La Falterona.

This estate was outstanding, the whole experience was relaxing, yet exhilarating. An easy train ride into Florence and tranquility when you return to the villa. The owner/manager was so very helpful and friendly he and his staff made us feel welcome in their home. Our group of 11 adults all agree, staying at this villas was one of the highlights of our time in Florence.

We were a family of eight with a baby and we all had great amount of space to spread out. Despite the heatwave , the downstairs room were cool and the swimming pool brilliant. We struggled a bit with the plugs some old some new, and ideally would have preferred all rooms to be en-suite , but it was fine. Domizio was most helpful during all the different steps of our stay.

First of all I like to thank Owner of villa Domizio for being friendly and available and in contact during our holidays . Also thanks to Domizios mother for arranging excellent Tuscany dinner in villa. Villa is situated in 20 min car drive fm Florence airport - so one can consider to avoid car-rental . Villa has nice pool and views from poolside to wineyard , pool has morning/midday sun , villa is big enough and has several eating-relaxing areas , mostly equipped kitchen and lot of books and owners personal items in rooms . As remarks for next visitors to know : 1. there is shooting range not far away from villa and gunshots were in air for couple of days during our stay, not really disturbing but also not pleasant 2. telephone and internet connection are available , but very poor in villa area , time to time signal was lost 3. there are 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms in villa , but not bathroom with every bedroom ( only 2 fitted in this manner ) .
Anyway - thanks for hospitality Tuscany , we'll be back on day !

The property is a 17th century villa surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. Ten members of our family were more than comfortable in the many bedrooms and bathrooms, living spaces, indoors and outside eating areas and the most beautiful pool with lush surroundings...flowers, lemon and lime trees everywhere. We were close to Florence and it was quite easy to visit all the sights in Tuscany. Exploring the villa and grounds was a special treat as the many floors, balconies, stairs, and rooms were very interesting yet welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and there are wines from the very vineyards on the property. The housekeeper lives on the grounds and is eager to help in anyway. The owner was incredibly nice and told us about the history of this villa which has been in his family for 70 years. The near by village had good places to eat. I would recommend this property as a fantastic place to bring friends and family. Our stay was spectacular...something for everyone from 70-10 years of age. Thanks so much Domizio!
