My unit was unscathed and the complex in which it is located suffered some ground level ocean water. However after an impressive first week or two, everything at the Prince Kuhio complex was back in operation---power, water, Internet, and laundry! Most of the debris on the parkside has been cleaned up and our two parking areas are getting refreshed. As expected, some landmarks and popular trails and beaches are still recovering so they may be off limits. The popular Beach House Restaurant across the Prince Kuhio complex was a casualty and it will probably take a year to rebuild. But our Prince Kuhio complex and many other restaurants and sights are open and still as wonderful as ever. Please check online to update yourself on our progress as areas. My unit is now available again for booking, earlier than I expected. We welcome you now! Aloha, Jane

Enjoy the best of Kauai. This fully equipped ocean-view studio condo at Poipu Beach has stunning vistas of the bay, peaceful Prince Kuhio Park, and distant mountains framed by rainbows and swaying palms.
Only steps to the beach
Prince Kuhio Resort, awarded a prestigious certificate of excellence for its outstanding qualities, is a small and quaint resort about 20 yards from the beach. Some of the best swimming, snorkeling, and surfing on Kauai are right out in front at Prince Kuhio Beach and Lawai Beach. Hawaiian sea turtles and tropical fish swim close to shore in a protected cove.
The sound of the ocean
You will enjoy the sound of the ocean, the birds singing, the tropical breeze, and the amazing sunrise every day from your lanai, which has a bar-height table and chairs so that you can fully enjoy this extraordinary setting. On the other side of the resort there is a koi pond, waterfalls, and a large swimming pool surrounded by a lush, exotic garden with a picnic and barbecue area.
Located on the second floor, the 400 sf studio (including covered lanai) is tastefully decorated with island-style furnishings and a comfortable king bed. A split-system air conditioner was recently installed for your comfort. Even without a/c, many guests appreciate the cooling tradewinds that often blow through the windows and it is very comfortable for most of the year. The compact but well-equipped full kitchen has lots of extras. Beach towels and beach chairs are provided. All you will need are your swimsuit and flip flops!
A laundry facility is available in Prince Kuhio complex, located next to the facilities manager’s office on the first floor near the front parking lot. The facilities manager is not an individual unit's property manager, however, he can be very helpful in a pinch during the eight-hour day when he is on site.
Ample parking is usually available at the resort. There’s parking in the complex’s front parking lot, on the first floor of the adjacent parking garage, and along the roadside. If parking in the garage, please obtain a card from the site managers’s office and sign up even after hours when the office is often unlocked. If locked, sign up in the morning.
The owner of this unit lives on-island about an hour away so assistance is always readily available.

The location was great. The condo was small but comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware, paper towels, dish soap and very limited spices. There were two nice beach chairs and two beach towels. The bathroom had 4 bath towels, wash cloths, etc. There was a nice balcony with a table and two chairs. Sitting on the balcony at sunset is a must. Hundreds of parakeets fly in the next for the night. For the price, this is a great condo. It’s old but comfortable

We really enjoyed staying in this cute little studio. Absolutely loved the patio where we sat every morning drinking coffee and watching the surf, birds, and people jogging or walking by. Loved walking up to the local market for supplies. The pool was great and we could walk to the beach to snorkel and see all the beautiful fish or watch the surfers. Location was great too as we traveled in both directions around the island for hiking, kayaking, and shopping.

We really enjoyed the location of the condo. Jane is a great communicator! I wish there had been mention of the roosters in the empty lot outside our unit. They started crowing around 3:00 a.m each day. They got progressively louder after that. By 6:00 it was impossible to sleep. That was really frustrating. Part of the window didn’t have a curtain so the morning sun really shines on you. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on cardboard and the pillows were completely flat. Decor, lighting and paint really needs to be updated throughout the entire unit. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels and umbrella.
