About this space

The property is a spacious one-bedroom home on the first floor with elevated aspects over the centre of the town. It is built of local honey-colored stone with deep sash windows and dates from the late Georgian era. The property can sleep three, with one king sized bed, and a quality sofa bed in the living room. PLEASE note the sofa bed is available on request and there is a a small charge for the extra bedding.

The space
The property has been recently renovated throughout and is set out mainly over one level and accessed from the High Street via a private entrance hall with staircase.

It comprises a charming double aspect living room open to a well fitted kitchen with integrated appliances and shaker style cupboards and drawers with breakfast bar and Travertine tiling.

There is a double bedroom with king size bed, fitted wardrobe and a beautifully appointed bathroom with shower over the bath and Travertine tiling. I provide hotel quality crisp cotton sheets, fluffy towels for each guest and complementary toiletries.

Please no smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property.

PLEASE NOTE: The sofabed is available on request, so I can ensure sufficient fresh linen and towels are in the property, and there is a small charge for the extra bedding.

Nearest Supermarket
Tesco Express is a few doors down the High Street (exit flat right)
The bigger Coop Supermarket with Cook! instore is at the far end of the High Street – 5 minute walk north (exit flat left). For cheese lovers, you have to visit the Cotswold Cheese Co which is further along the street from Tesco Express.

Local attractions
Batsford Arboretum and Falconry Centre is a 30 minute walk (or 5 minute drive). The footpath starts on Hospital Road directly opposite the end of Corder’s Lane. Nice Café and Gardens. Country houses and gardens are close by including Sezincote, Bourton House Garden, Snowshill Manor & Garden and Chastleton (both National Trust). All of the popular picturesque honey-coloured towns and villages including Broadway, Chipping Camden, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are a short drive or bus journey away. Tourist Information is in the Cotswold District Council office directly opposite the flat.

Restaurants
There are an array pubs and restaurants up and down the High Street offering a range of different cuisines. We can recommend the fish and chips at The White Hart Royal Hotel and The Manor House Hotel has a lovely garden for al fresco dining. Yellow Brick located in the shopping arcade is very popular and great value. For pizza and pasta lovers, there is ASK Italian, and for curry lovers you’ve got a choice of great Indian restaurants. If you are looking for something extra special you can try the Michelin rated tasting menu at Henne (where Prue Leith was a recent visitor!), or there’s Scenic Suppers in Todenham (10 minute drive) where you can dine in your own private greenhouse with far reaching views of the Cotswolds! There are also a number of independent coffee shops and tea rooms in Moreton. Victoria’s (downstairs below the flat) serves great coffee and nice lunches. Otis & Belle Bakery opposite the flat do a great sour dough loaf for your morning toast and huge cinnamon buns! There are several traditional tea rooms too!

Regular bus services to local destinations operate from the High Street near to the flat. Bus stop is a 2 minute walk the other side of the mini roundabout (exit flat right). Main services are:

Great location and apartment! Unfortunately, it is in need of some maintenance. Specifically light bulbs, washer and deep cleaning. We arrived on a Monday and hoped to do our laundry from the last week, the reason we chose this apartment was the fact that it had a washer and dryer. Immediately we noticed that the washer was not working. A call to the property manager was not answered, got a email on Tuesday that a maintenance person would be there on Wednesday morning. Andrea was very nice and said that the washer had supposedly been repaired recently, but obviously no one checked to see that it was done properly. She hoped someone would be there by the next day to address the issue. No one could come until the day we were leaving. Therefore, an excursion to the local laundromat was added to our itinerary. Even the light bulbs couldn’t be replaced. She mentioned that they manage 30 units, and because of the busy summer season, were not able to address maintenance issues between guests. On a separate issue the unit only had one and a half rolls of toilet paper. When we call for more, we were first asked how many were in our party! Then rather curtly told that anything beyond what was initially provided, would be on us! We have rented apartments all over the world and never had to buy toilet paper! In addition, there was a significant amount of mold in the shower. These issues are very unfortunate in such a lovely apartment, and certainly at this price point.
