Walnut Cottage

Everything ,the location is so lovely, the property was absolutely gorgeous, had everything you'd want. Cosy with lots of charm and character. A lovely welcome pack was there waiting on arrive which was a lovely and grateful gesture.

I couldn't find fault.

Absolutely lovely. The only difficulty was not being able to get our larger suitcase up the narrow staircase

The property was beautiful, my first words were when I saw it was “it’s so stinking cute”. They had decorated for Christmas with a tree with gorgeous lights. The furniture was gorgeous & suited the cottage so well. It was cozy & inviting, the open fire just made it perfect.

A couple of small things were broken, the blinds in the attic room are broken.

Complete personal preference but not a fan of memory foam mattress. Other than that nothing to mention!

The cottage was perfect for our stay. Easy access to all the big needs like the train station, high street and bus stop. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet and everyone we passed was very friendly and said hello (unlike in London!). The cottage was actually nicer in person than the photos (even though the photos also looked great!). It was so comfortable and cozy and the small touches from the host were appreciated- especially a small carton of milk for morning coffee! They had even put in a small Christmas tree in the living room which added to the coziness of the experience. We loved sitting by the fire and watching a movie at night. All the communication from the host prior to arrival was clear and friendly.

Nothing! Would 100% stay again and hope to make this an annual getaway.

The location was excellent and easy walking to the picturesque town and a great base for visiting the Cotswolds , the cottage was clean and full of character. Appreciated the welcome pack. The outside back area was nice also.

The parking was available outside the property as we went off season, but not sure if it would be the same in the height of the season?

Very comfortable indeed, everything was provided for, and in a great central location from which to explore and get out to various Cotswold villages. The very prompt service to repair / resolve the leaking sink in the bathroom once the problem was phoned through. Thank you. Overall, a brilliant four day stay.

A couple of things ..... - poor condition of the property information booklet. This booklet, which was referred to in the welcome SMS (and found on the kitchen table), was found to be water-damaged; some pages were problematic to read. A replacement booklet with a better / cleaner copy (with an update to the wi-fi details included) is required. - clearer directions to the property. Although there was a description of the cottage location (along with a map location link) in the SMS message received just before we arrived, it was dark and raining when we turned up on Saturday afternoon. I found it a bit difficult to actually locate Walnut Cottage; there are a number of cottages along Hospital Road that are numbered #1. A more fuller description of how to get to the property in the welcome instructions and on the booking.com site (along the following lines) would certainly help those unfamiliar with the area (e.g. in the fading light it was not easy to identify what was referred to in the access instructions as .... the 'Old Garage'): 'From the High Street, proceed down Corder's Lane and turn right into Hospital Road. Walnut Cottage is the first cottage 80 metres on the right. The cottage is adjacent to Marsh Court and diagonally opposite Oak Tree Mews.' - spare logs for the fireplace. Even though there was reference to additional logs for the fireplace in the 'property information booklet (outside in a 'wood box'?), while there was kindling in the enclosed area at the bottom of the garden, there were no logs (other than what was provided in the basket in the cottage). While it is acknowledged that the onus may be on the guests purchasing their own wood stocks from a local garage for an extended stay, having at least some spare logs to help guests settle in for the first few days would be welcome.
