Upon on arrival we met the very friendly owners who welcomed us to Foxglove. We were told we could reverse our car down the bridle way to unload and then park at the top afterwards. There was certainly plenty of space to park and we experienced no problems parking for the remainder of the week. Foxglove it self was a little paradise with our own enclosed garden with views over the fields and hills. It was lovely to watch the sheep and chickens and listen to the abundance of bird life. We even saw paragliders taking off on the hills! The shepherds hut was immaculate inside and is beautifully decorated with lots of features. The bathroom is a little gem and the shower was great. Teddy our dog loved sitting on the top of the steps surveying his domain and watching me enjoying the sunshine in one of the deckchairs, perfect! The surrounding areas are beautiful and we visited Shaftesbury and Sherborne which are quaint little places with lots of independent shops. The coast is only a short drive away so you’re spoilt for choice! The owner recommended the local fish and chip van that visits on a Thursday in the nearby village of Okeford and they were certainly very tasty. We would definitely recommend Foxglove as a wonderful peaceful place to stay and hopefully we will be back for our second visit soon.
