About this apartment rental
Our new apartment is located on a 200-year-old Black Forest farm, situated in the heart of a diverse hiking and mountain biking area.
There is a horse and pony farm right across from the apartment. There, you and/or your children can take riding lessons or book rides in the surrounding forests.
At our Hierholz location, there is an idyllic little natural lake. Enjoy relaxing days here with us in this beautiful area. The apartment has a separate entrance via its own balcony.
The spacious, high-quality apartment features tile and cork floors and is ideal for families with 2–3 children, but also for couples looking to enjoy a few quiet days.
Bedding, kitchen towels, and hand towels, as well as electricity, heat, and water, are included.
Farm vacation: We haven’t had cattle or pigs since late 2012. The following animals are still on our farm: rabbits you can pet (hopefully with baby rabbits in the spring), cats, and chickens.
Across the way is a horse farm with several horses and ponies. There, you can take riding lessons or simply go for a ride in the area. I’d be happy to provide you with the contact information in advance.
Hiking vacations: We have a wide variety of hiking trails in the southern Black Forest—ranging from fairly easy routes to strenuous hikes (such as the Feldberg or Herzogenhorn). The hiking trails in Dachsberg/Ibach are well-marked and lead through forests, meadows, and pastures, from where you can enjoy wonderful views—including, at times, alpine vistas. Here you can hike away from the main roads in a peaceful and relaxing landscape. Just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We’re also happy to give you tips for various day hikes, including places to stop for refreshments. Various hiking maps are available at the apartment.
Recreation: The village of Hierholz is very quiet, with no traffic. Here, children can still run around freely and without a care in the world. But adults can also enjoy the peace and quiet here, far from the stress of everyday life.

We stayed in the apartment for 10 days and had a lovely time. The place is actually better than the pictures.
Nice kitchen, good bathroom, bed were good enough (although might need replacing some tome soon). The balcony is lovely in the morning for breakfast amd the garden is great for drinks and lazing around.
Swimming in the lake is great!
The only down side was the neighbours macross the road making a noise.

This was our second stay here, the previous approximately 2 years ago.
The location is one of our favourite places in Germany. The appartment is first class. The family that own the appartment are very friendly and helpful.
Anyone who decides to stay here will not be disappointed, the appartment is clean and spacious and very peaceful.
Hope to return again in the future.

We spent 7 fantastic nights at Ferdihof and had a great time. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our 2 year old son loved the freedom to run about and play on the garden toys, interact with the animals as well as paddle in the nearby lake.
The apartment was perfect and had everything you would expect to have at home, we would not hesitate to go back again.
Heirholz is located approximately 1 hour drive from Basel Airport. The nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes away in Sankt Blasien. There are many attractions nearby and `Ferdihof` is in an ideal location to explore the local area.
