Dora's hospitality is second to none. A warm welcome, gifts of home made local specialities and suggestions for visits. The property is set in the hills with wonderful views and is a great base location. The bedrooms are on a mezzanine open to the main room and the property is decorated with eclectic artistic charm. It is the polar opposite of the rather bland sparse decor you find in many rentals. The pool (shared only with the very considerate owners) is lovely. We enjoyed our stay and will remember it fondly.

Dora and Sergio are charming and hospitable hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in this bucolic idyll. The approach is spectacular up a steep and winding mountain road and the views at the top are breathtaking. On arrival Dora greeted us like we were family and she even baked us a cake and left a cold bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The accommodation is spacious and homely and the swimming pool is superb and considerably bigger than it appears in the photographs. All of this is in a wonderful setting of olive and lemon trees, grape vines and stunning mountain views. Lucca and Florence are both easily reached by car or train, as are the beaches of the Italian Riviera. The only negative was the extreme heat, totally beyond our hosts' control but the property would benefit from full aircon. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us Dora and Sergio, we are sad it was only for 6 nights :-) Grazie mille!!

As a family (two adults and two young ladies) we were the guests in Dora’s superb refuge called “il Fenile” in the mountains of Pistoia in hot July 2019. The wonderful view over the valley is in reality even more overwhelming than the photos do suggest, in the evening you can enjoy it with a glass of wine from the terraces. Pistoia is in an ideal and well-centered place. Everything is within reach, towards either the sea, such as Viareggio, Lucca, Pisa, Vinci, and Siena or many places more, just Florence is highly recommended by train. You get used to the mountainous approach and enjoy it after some time. Pistoia itself offers many shopping opportunities with small and large shops, very good restaurants (tip: Osteria del Canbiancho) as well as a very nice old downtown. During 14 days, we could enjoy the peace, the pleasant climate, the great pool, the inviting garden, the loving furnishing of the house with true works of art, and above all enjoy the hospitality with emphasis on friendship of Dora and Sergio. It is not possible to be welcomed friendlier and looked after than here. You feel at home within half an hour, regeneration and relaxation could start. The hosts are always open-hearted, helpful and provide tips and recommendations and they help you when you need it. Caro saluti a Dora e Sergio, ci auguriamo di tornare presto. Mille grazie Dora!

An amazing view point, a quiet and lovely place, and keen and adorable hosts. Our most excellent holiday for years. A perfect starting point to visit Pistoia, Lucca, Vinci, Collodi (i bet your kid will love it !), and of course Firenze if your stay is long enough... We stayed one week in summer 2017 in Dora an Sergio's most beautiful site. We felt most comfortable there. The house is located quite high up the mountains near Pistoia. Do not loose patience when passing the small streets through Torbecchia and up towards San Vito. You will have been sent excellent directions to find the place, just follow them! You will arrive at very large premises with lawn, oil trees, wine and some more nice trees and bushes and most likely at first be welcomed by Gipsy the friendly dog. Dora will be there then to present the guest house and garden. This lovely house is well equipped and decorated with warm love and exquisite taste. You will find many pictures of your host's family and even some canvas painted by Dora herself who among many remarkable skills also is a gifted artist. The house's large garden is equipped with several terraces providing calm and sunny places. You are allowed to use all these nice places as well as the large swimming pool. We especially recommend the upper terrace's breathtaking view at night presenting the enlightened towns of Pistoia, Prato and Florence at your feet! Your hosts are very friendly and warm persons who make any effort to help their guests and make them really feel at home. They live next house and are accessible at any time. We were lucky to have met Dora and Sergio, hoping not for the last time! To summarize: It is a perfect place to stay for holidays. Drive down the street and in a few minutes you are in Pistoia to do the shopping. In Pistoia you can easily take the motorway to explore all the Tuscany highlights. And when you return to your domicile the world's trouble and hectic rush seems to disappear immediately. Una casa che fa volare – a house that makes you fly! Monika & Giorgio

A lovely place to stay. A great house, a wonderfull swimmingpool and not forget two wonderfull and fantastic owners: Dora and Sergio.
