This studio is located on floor 1 of a former cultural space, now fully renovated and transformed with Scandinavian/Avant-garde (Dogville) style details. The decoration combines cultural elements with practicality, modernity, and comfort—ideal for travelers. The property accommodates up to 2 people and features an open-plan area with a double bed, a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and a bathroom with shower. The building has a common entrance, lift access, and is situated on Rua Ivens, behind the Funchal Municipal Garden, close to the city’s main attractions, restaurants, shops, and parks.
Wi-Fi is available throughout. No private parking.
AREA
Building located in Rua Ivens, behind the Municipal Garden of Funchal and 1 minute walk from the Municipal Theatre Baltazar Dias. From this building you can get to know and visit on foot the main points of interest of the capital of Madeira Island. It is close to restaurants, shopping centres, bars, museums, the Cathedral of Funchal, Funchal Marina, Santa Catarina Park.
In the city centre there is plenty of information about all sorts of activities you can do during your holiday: cultural activities, radical activities, nature related activities... whatever the purpose of your visit to Madeira Island!
PROPERTY RULES
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules.
• Smoking is not permitted inside the property. A fine of €300 will be charged for non-compliance.
• Parties or events are not permitted.
• Pets are not permitted.
• Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night.
The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature levels, solely for safety reasons. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. Should abnormal levels be detected, a member of our team may contact you. You are not permitted to disable, cover or tamper this or any other equipment installed on the property.
In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration purposes.
Municipal tourist tax (when applicable):
€2.00 per person/night for guests aged 13 and above, up to a maximum of 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay). A payment link will be sent prior to arrival.
Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If it is not arranged at least 48 hours beforehand, check-in will be subject to our team’s availability.
Check-in: from 16:00 | Check-out: by 12:00
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and an additional charge.
By confirming your reservation, all guests agree to our house rules and accommodation conditions.
OTHER NOTES
All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide, free of charge, a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath upon request before check-in. Requests made less than 48 hours before arrival may be subject to an additional fee. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket.
For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays. Additional cleaning services during your stay are available on request at an extra charge.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, only a few moments walk from the main Funchal shopping mall and with a cafe almost on the doorstep. The washing machine, kitchenette and amenities provided were all great and just what we needed for our stay.
The check in process was very easy with door codes. We also had great communication from An Island Apart with quick replies via WhatsApp. Our flight to Madeira was diverted and we had to take a late ferry to Funchal instead. We had no issues accessing the apartment when we finally arrived to Madeira at 01:00am and we’re grateful for the ease of the process. We also had pre-booked a taxi service from the airport but we’re grateful to receive a full refund from An Island Apart after the diversion and change to our plans.

The apartment is in a great location, everything you need is close by. All that said, it is very tiny, noisy and uncomfortable.
