The house and the room are absolutely beautiful, and we had a gorgeous view over the lake. Also, the people working at the hotel were exceptionally kind and very helpful. Further, there are two parking spaces directly in front of the hotel which was very practical.

Everything was great.

Έχουν διατηρηθεί οι χώροι, η αρχιτεκτονική, και η κατασκευή του παλιού αρχοντικού, το οποίο μας άρεσε πολύ. Είχαμε όμορφη θέα προς τη λίμνη και το πρωινό ήταν επίσης πολύ καλό. Τέλος, οι οικοδεσπότες ήταν ευγενικοί και εξυπηρετικοί.

Η οδήγηση για να φτάσει κανείς στο κατάλυμα μέσα από τα στενά της Καστοριάς χρειάζεται λίγη υπομονή. Η πόλη όμως είναι πολύ μικρή και αυτό δεν αποτελεί ιδιαίτερο πρόβλημα. Ένα άλλο στοιχείο που παρατηρήσαμε ήταν ότι στο μπάνιο δεν υπήρχε χώρος για να κρεμάσει κανείς τις πετσέτες.

It is a beautiful old manse on the top of the hill up from the lake. Views were slightly obstructed, but were across the lake and were pretty. The decor inside is dark wood throughout, with rooms on the ground floor, first floor, and a breakfast area downstairs in a basement. Breakfast was pastries, bread, cheese, yoghurt, jams, juice, cereal and eggs. The coffee was really poor quality but everything else was fantastic.

There a couple of things that are down to opinion, and for me, the decor made everything feel dark and the reception was unmanned throughout so there was no one to speak to if you need anything. The bathrooms in this hotel are not acceptable, and in my view, they should close the rooms until they have restructured the space to make them bigger. I am a tall slim man, and I could not use the toilet, the shower or the sink, because I couldn’t fit in there. When trying to use the toilet, I could not stand far enough back because of the sink. If you try to sit, your knees are in the air because of the sink. The shower is low slung and in a ‘half bath’ because the gap is only about 3ft. I could not stand in it, or sit in it. While trying to stand in front of the sink, the back of your legs are pressed up against the toilet. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world but I have never seen bathrooms like this. They are not poor quality, they are just not fit to be used. The furniture is old, which is nice to look at, but the bed is very hard and the layout of the room not very practical. Be aware that it is also up a very steep hill and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
