Room was a good size and had everything we needed. Large and comfortable bed. Excellent location, close to a metro stop and in a street with loads of restaurants to choose from. 24-hour reception made check-in process easy. Can pay with card, cash or Alipay. Note that there is no English sign, which is fair enough, but if you don't read Mandarin, make a note of what the entrance looks like so you can find it easily. I've sent a photo.

A week before my arrival I received a message asking me to confirm within 24 hours that I was still coming, otherwise my booking would be cancelled. This could have been a problem if I had been somewhere with no internet access, or was not checking my email every day. I realise that it was a busy time and they need to discourage no-shows, but there are more customer- friendly ways of handling that. For example, take payment for the first night as a deposit, then cancel the rest of the booking if the customer doesn't turn up for the first night.

Staff were friendly and helpful and tried to communicate even with the language barrier. The location was very good as well, close to the subway station. The room was large and had everything you needed.

Even though the hotel specifically said it was "no smoking", and despite the blatant no smoking signs all over the room, the hotel room and bathroom absolutely reeked of stale cigarettes. There was no window so it was basically impossible to get rid of the smell. I assume there is no system in place to check if someone has been smoking or not, and therefore nothing to stop them, but it was unpleasant and made my clothes smell too simply being in the room.
