Cheerful Four Bedroom Cottage with Spacious Garden

In general we were happy with the cottage and the basket of delicious goodies was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Unfortunately though we came across several issues. The front door was very difficult to open especially from the inside. In the event of a fire this is very dangerous as it would slow down evacuation of the building especially by children. Upstairs was very basic. The only wardrobe had a broken door. There was no storage space at all in the other upstair bedrooms not even a chest of drawers. There is storage and hanging space in the cupboards on the landing but they were full of clutter. There was a problem with the basin taps upstairs that really needed the immediate attention of a competent plumber. It was almost impossible to turn the taps on making the basin virtually useless for washing hands and faces, shaving and cleaning teeth. My daughters and other family members used the bath taps to wash hands and clean teeth. Not a satisfactory state of affairs. There was also a problem with the oil fired boiler but Adesola was a very helpful host and explained how to solve the problem. There should probably be instructions on how to restart the boiler available to read for when the host is not available as the restart switch is hidden None of these issues ruined our stay. The cottage was warm once we restarted the boiler (twice) and the beds were comfortable which were our main requirements. We actually spent very little time in the cottage as we spent all the daytimes and evenings with family who lived nearby.

The decor is a bit old but that didn’t affect our stay but I know some people might make a comment in the future. Would definitely stay again. Beds were extremely comfortable and our dog lived having a spacious garden to run around in.
