Lovely location with spectacular views. We stayed during a big storm and we're very cosy with the wood burner. Very comfortable accommodation with a bath with I prefer. Great location for walking into the centre of the town although a steep climb back. Lovely atmosphere in the town for the Three Kings Festival. Definitely worth walking up to the ruined castle and church, the views and architecture were amazing.
The China mugs, plates etc a little old, cracked and could do with updating.
Parking campervan was difficult. We found space in the car park about 500m away. But there was never space at the top of the slope even for a car. It was always full.

Fabulous views from a very clean property. Comfortable sofa (a rare thing!) and a very good fire. Violeta was a great host- clear directions and organised fire wood delivery for a modest cost. Casares is a great base if you enjoy walking in the hills. We particularly enjoyed the property when the house upstairs was unoccupied.

La ubicación es perfecta en el casco histórico en zona peatonal. La casa está muy bien equipada, y realmente puedes sentirte como en casa, tiene muchos detalles y la sensación de hogar se hace muy presente. La anfitriona es muy atenta e incluso tuvo el detalle de poner árbol de Navidad. Se agradece mucho que permitan mascotas, ¡gracias!. Las vistas del pueblo, el peñón de Gibraltar y África son de ensueño. Se puede aparcar fácilmente. Casares es un pueblo en montañas, por lo que debes esperar subir y bajar pendientes. El entorno es espectacular: hay restaurantes como Sarmiento o Venta Victoria y actividades de agroturismo en la granja de cabras y quesería Crestellina que han hecho que el total de la estancia en Casares haya superado nuestras expectativas. Repetiremos sin duda.

Perfect little apartment, spotlessly clean and a very close walk down, and a steep climb back, to the centre of the village. During our stay we experienced a torrential storm. It rained very heavily for the entire day. But with the heating panels and the woodburner we were warm enough. We just hunkered down with Netflix for the day because you really couldn't walk out in it! The next day the sun shone and we explored the town. Definitely walk up to the castle and we were lucky enough to be there for The Three Kings festival. We ate out at Casa Meson. The owner had a little English and the food was "asombrosa" (amazing!) You can watch the Griffin Vultures and experience a lovely sunset from the apartment. We stayed in December but I should think it's a very cool spot even in the heat of summer to sit and swing and read. I would definitely recommend.
Some visitors have complained about the steep climb. It is a mountain village and all the pueblo blanco houses are built into the hillside. So do expect steep walks to and from the apartment. We were travelling by campervan and we did have to park in the car park further down as the street parking was full and not deep enough for our 7m van. But the car park wasn't that far away and perfectly safe and the civil guard reassured us that we were OK to leave the van there.
