The building, location, decor and security was great. The property manager was easy to contact and was so helpful with codes and working the website.

It was not clean as I would expect a place to be. I had to hoover the hallway, kitchen, living room floor and sofa. I paid the full price to be able to cancel and was surprised the money way was taken out of my bank account t straight away. When the day came to arrive, I was shocked to find out that I had to either pay a £200.00 damage and wear and tear fee that would be refunded and kept untiI the end of my stay. I could pay £10.00 non refund fee for damages and wear-and tear. This had to be paid before I could access any codes or logging in details, which means there were no ways around it. I did contact the company to let them know about the unclean state of the property and sent through many photos but they did not comment. I was changed twoce for the dog fee, I did contact the company and they refunded me after I informed them of this.

Directions to the property could have been clearer signposted

The location is gorgeous and overall the property is nice. The weather was really warm but the property stayed nice and cool throughout the day and overnight. They provided bread and jam from local shops which was a lovely touch. The kitchen and living facilities were decent. Check in and out was nice and easy. The property is a decent size for a couple. The bed and bedroom were very comfortable, we slept very well.

The rugs/sofa and blankets stank of dog. We understand it's dog friendly but the rugs were clearly years old and in dire need of replacing. The blankets for the evening were a lovely touch but they were absolutely heaving so we didn't use them. I like to stretch in the morning but I didn't want to lie on the floor, even on the carpet in the bedroom because the smell was that bad. Not ideal when you're dressed up for dinner and don't even want to sit on the sofa, which also needed replacing, given the dog hair and smell. Some basic cooking utensils were missing too, which made things awkward, and the bin was broken. The rubber seal under the shower screen was broken and mouldy. It's obvious that the upkeep of the property is not very well monitored. People in, people out, basic clean, rinse and repeat situation. It was fine for a few days but we wouldn't stay there again. We did wonder how the property has such a high score for feedback on here, then I received an email from the company who owns the property offering me a 25% discount on my next booking with them if I leave a 5 star review...
