Warm-hearted family-type experience, felt very welcome. Can recommend for High-Tech Campus

Novi made the stay very pleasant from the very beginning, she called in when I was running late and made sure I would find the right bus. She was patient, even though I missed the bus several times and she had expected me earlier. In the evening she texted me with a question whether I had eaten yet, and suggested to give me a wrap for breakfast. It was really nice for her - she prepared breakfast for me on both days of the stay. I didn't expect that! Also, there were different snacks and drinks available in the room itself, even refrigerated ones. There is a greek restaurant in walking distance from the house. Additionally, this is close to the Eindhoven High Tech Campus, which was the primary reason I chose it. You can easily reach this by bus (15 or 16) from the main train station, but be sure to watch out for those buses and when they leave, the main train station has some really confusing indicators for the buses and they leave quickly. This was also the reason I missed the bus. TL;DR: I really liked the friendly and caring family atmosphere Novi provided in this stay.

The power socket strip in the room was a bit difficult to use, so I plugged my charger into the main wall socket. This is also where the refrigerator connects to, my charger has a pass-through plug so it worked.

Very kind host. Plenty of food was provided (for free!) to make breakfast and snacks. Easy to reach by car (it's quite far away from the city centre). Free wifi.

Niet voor herhaling vatbaar ondanks de vriendelijkheid en goede bedoelingen.

De inwonende eigenares draagt gastvrijheid duidelijk in het vaandel. Ze heeft echter de middelen niet om dit op een hoog niveau waar te maken. Ze zorgt voor allerlei snacks, je merkt dat het goed bedoeld is.

De kamer bevindt zich in een versleten huis dat vol rommel staat. De kamer zelf was met wat houten panelen geknutseld aan de straatkant van de woonkamer - het gaf een erg gesloten gevoel en licht of lucht binnenlaten via het raam waar het bed voorstaat, is niet echt een optie. Je kon de kamer ook niet afsluiten. Deze minimale ruimte stond vol met oude en goedkope spullen. Het eenpersoonsbed (bij de boeking was sprake van tweepersoonsbed) was geen bed te noemen: een stapel weet-ik-veel met een matras erop die wel 15 cm afhelde naar één kant. Onmogelijk om goed op te slapen. Toen ik binnenkwam, vroeg de eigenares me om dadelijk mijn schoenen uit te doen, "want wij zijn moslims". Blijkbaar hoort het bij de Islamcultuur dat men de schoenen uittrekt uit respect voor de zuiverheid van het huishouden. Alleen is dat blijkbaar een spiritueel concept, los van de rommel die overal stof staat te vergaren. In Duitsland is het ook volstrekt normaal je schoenen uit te trekken, alleen is dat daar "om geen stof en vuiligheid te verspreiden", los van religieuze overwegingen. De kleine WC met heel weinig bewegingsruimte en de niet afsluitbare badkamer op de eerste verdieping staan ook weer vol met allerlei spullen zoals flessen schoonmaakproduct en kosmetica. Als ik een lange tocht door de woestijn zou maken in een derdewereldland, zou ik blij zijn beroep te kunnen doen op de gastvrijheid van een local. Maar in West-Europa heb ik andere verwachtingen en eisen.

Laat geboekt en tevreden dat ik het gedaan heb: functioneel zonder gedoe, net wat ik nodig had.

Ik had geen ontbijt verwacht, maar het was er wel. Gezien de aard van het verblijf, een logeerkamer, was dit een leuke extra service. Het ontbijt was een normaal brood-ontbijt: brood met verschillende soorten beleg. Ik kon ook zelf thee en koffie maken. Handig.

Heerlijk verblijf gehad heerlijk geslapen de mensen waren zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij en lekkernij op de kamer en drinken in de koelkast ik heb heerlijk genoten.
