New Elephant House Hotel

I booked this property after finding a discounted rate online compared to much of Georgetown. It was located right in the middle of the Unesco World heritage zone and had everything close by. Given the listing details, I didn't realise the self check-in bit until I arrived. The check-in instructions could be clearer, but everything you need is posted on the front door. The key contact number is displayed fairly prominently right next to the keypad, along with five or six other pieces of information to look through. Since I had been traveling all day, I didn't check my messages beforehand, so arrival information could be sent a little earlier. Once on site, I had Wi-Fi, but I did have to call a second number because the first person was less helpful with a basic entry question. As for the accommodation itself, the initial room had a drip somewhere. After the first night, the team responded well and moved me to a different room, which was problem-free for the rest of the stay. The room features basic amenities, comfortable bed, standard bedding, and compact furniture, the bathroom is like a cruise bathroom capsule installed into each self contained room. It's an interesting setup for sure. But it works and had plenty of hot water. While I know this is out of the property's control, guests should be aware of external noise. Every night around 11:00 p.m., a truck stops right outside the window to do heavy compacting work, which can be disruptive if you are a light sleeper. Overall, it works as a budget-friendly option for travelers who need a central location, as long as you don't mind a fully self-managed experience and some city noise. Hotel highlights: Budget-friendly, Responsive staff

Everything is good at the room and location also good. The pillow little bit flat to sleep only

The room was incredibly spacious and airy. It was fully equipped like a studio apartment, featuring a cooking area, microwave, and refrigerator right in the room; while the washer-dryer was shared, it was a shame there was no hair dryer. A downside was the lack of a reception desk and the need to climb a long flight of stairs to reach the room, making it suitable only for those traveling with light luggage. Despite the absence of a front desk, the support staff were very responsive and helpful. Although the location was somewhat secluded, I was satisfied with my stay.

It is an old shop house that is not clean, no one to check you in and it is not well maintained
