Small but beautiful garden. Very much appreciated the afternoon/evening shade on some very hot days. The house is spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen with proper cooking facilities, breakfast bar and dining table. Comfortable sitting room with a proper TV. Doubles doors out of the kitchen and sitting room into the garden make the house beautifully light and airy. Local Co-Op only 5 mins down the road was very convenient. Easy access to A39 and Falmouth town centre. Interesting pictures, ornaments and furniture make the house feel homely unlike the usual, rather sterile, rental properties. Had fun finding the "secret" garden.. though a seat up there would be nice.
Only slight complaint was the lack of a proper handrail on the stairs. OK for the young and fit but, although we managed, we found the stairs a little tricky as I have some mobility problems and my 92 year-old mother is rather frail. My room (at the back of the house) was lovely but would be very cramped for two people. I ended up parking on the road (which was easy) as the drive is very steep and I didn't want to rely on leaving the car in gear to stop it rolling into the house. The house is on a very ordinary suburban estate with no view but there's a lovely woodland at the bottom of the hill (only a few minutes walk away) if you want to stretch your legs/walk the dog etc.

The kitchen is nicely renovated and the plants throughout the house are beautiful. The garden in the back is a marvel and truly makes the property. If I could spend all my time in the kitchen and the garden I'd be content.
First, the stairway to the second floor is both oddly situated and unsafe. One has to duck under it when moving from one side of the room to the other and it cleaves the living room/lounge area in half in the strangest of ways. It's unsafe insomuch as it is steep and lacking any kind of handrail (a seeming violation of building codes). Second, I never slept well because of the bed setup: The beds may be queen-sized by British standards, but they're double-sized by American standards -- and that would be good to mention going forward so tall people don't book the site unwarned. The iron bedframe in the one room is lovely, but I'm 6'4" tall and the combination of the short bed and the iron footboard made it impossible for me to sleep comfortably. Finally, the neighborhood where the house is situated is not very pleasant. That's not the owner's fault, but it compromises the experience of staying there. This house is nicely kept up, but many others in the area are less so, making it a neighborhood you're happy to leave but not happy to stroll around in.
