Funky smell in the bathroom when we arrived - dissipated after we opened the window. The app for checking in and communicating details was not always reliable - had to do some duplicate conversations with the host.

Very late check in time! 4pm! This is way too late. The apartment smelt like cooking smells - like burnt garlic. We instantly opened all the windows but due to the busy, noisy street and the bar directly outside, we had to choose between smell or noise. Toilet door handle had blood on it. Bathroom blind doesn’t close fully. Tv didn’t work. No hand soap in the bathroom dispenser. Curtains needed in bedroom - light from the street lamp came in all night and disturbed our sleep. Parking hard to come by and expensive. Dodgy hallways outside felt unsafe and unwelcoming, they smelt like garbage and cigarette smoke and had neighbours’ belongings piled in the hallway. The bed was uncomfortable… added to the light coming in the bedroom window all night, we slept poorly and felt horrible the next morning. We decided to leave a day early and forfeit a night’s accommodation. The whole experience, including the check in process made us feel like we were staying in someone’s personal apartment and we were an inconvenience.
