The location relative to the freeway was really important for usA evacuation
I have to say how unsafe the situation. I am a solo mom 845 with three young children age is 1111 and six. When we got to the location, there was a big snowstorm. Clearly that host had nothing to do with this. We had to park our car at big trees, market, and walk in to the actual cabin. There was no electricity the whole time, again not the fault of the owner. We had to use the wood-burning stove to keep us warm and to cook our food. My biggest complaints were the fact that there was only a small amount of firewood left for us to use, the lighter fluid lasted only one hour. There was no ax or tool set hammer saw anything to help us procure more wood to keep us warm. The cabin was not equipped to support the safety of the guests in the event of a snowstorm. There was a There was a tiny flashlight and for small candles, and an and for small candles, and a lighter that was almost Early in the morning, a tree fell onto the roof crashing down through the awning. I went outside to look around and found that there were a number of trees precariously positioned to fall over the house. It was hard to figure out what to do to evacuate. We ended up using some wood that we found underneath the deck. I used a kitchen knife to cut it, so it will fit into the Fireplace. I walked through the snow to SNAC ski shack. The owners of the ski shack loaned me three snow shoes, and a sled for my six year-old daughter so we could evacuate. There was no phone service or anyway to communicate with the outside world. No way to send a SOS signal.
There was a generator at the ski shack. The gentleman at the ski shack helped us get out safely and helped us get a hotel room in Murphy’s. It was one of the most harrowing experiences of my life, especially as a single mom with three children. I would like at the very least to request a refund. It was a gravely unsafe situation and the cabin was not properly equipped to manage and support the lives of the guests in such an emergency.
