The Lighthouse Retreat was very clean on the surfaces. The floor on the other hand was vacuumed, but in need of mopping, and is uneven, but we got used to that understanding that this is a very old home split into several rentals.The painted walls were cheerful, the furniture was adequate but old. There are two beds (one queen, one full) in a very small bedroom which is a real tight squeeze!The queen looked sunken in the middle so we chose the full which we haven’t slept in a full for 40 yrs! It was comfy and we slept 3 good nights there! If we would have had more than us in that bed filled room it would have been too much closeness! There is a hid-a-bed in the small living room that I can’t speak about because it was unused by the two of us. There is a private secure entrance, into a cute little clean kitchen with the one nice and clean bathroom connecting to the kitchen. Would I stay again? Possibly. I’d really like info about the house next door also called the lighthouse. It was cute and inviting. Many thanks for checking on us throughout our stay. We spent most of our time enjoying LK MI, Grand River, Light Show, Shopping, and eating in wonderful restaurants, Farmers Market, and of course Pronto Pups!

The best thing i can say is the location. The kitchen items were well worn and old utensils need replacing, chipped plates. The vacuum cleaner/ broom was kept in the living room. The bedroom door wouldnt open fully as queen beds blocked it. Just half roll toilet paper, and 1/4 paper towel. Patio needed weeding. Dead flies on the window sill. This was our first VRBO experience. I requested that no strong fragrance cleaning products be used as i have allergies, but a strong scented fabuloso has been used and we had to open windows to get smell out, thats when we noticed all the dead flies. Was disappointing first experience. Attention to details was missing.
