Perfect couples getaway in the countryside

Very enjoyable, it must be great in the summer having a drink in the garden

Breakfast was very good. Could do with some toast available on the bar.

Log burner was only lit on the night the boss visited. Need one or two more comfy chairs when just having a drink in the lounge/dining area

A very comfortable stay. A very relaxed , cosy stay after a busy day. A lovely setting even in the winter months. I can imagine when the Spring/ Summer comes it would be glorious.

Pleasant well run hotel near to the ruins of the beautiful old monastery at Tintern.

The restaurant was too busy for me to get a table so I had to eat in the bar where the menu was rather restricted

Stunning find! Not to be missed!

Stunning property, beautifully finished. Set in a picturesque location opposite Tintern Abbey. Food and drinks were fantastic and well priced! Stuff were great and I would 100% stay again.

The only slight negative would be the temperature of the showers, they were not hot enough.

Flawless - incredible stay - incredible staff

Everything, the stay was absolutely flawless. Kirsty was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Gareth's cooking in the upper deck is out of this world. Breakfast in the morning was also incredible. This was our favourite stay in all of the UK, I have not been to a better place.

Recently upgraded and looks lovely. Welcoming, large comfortable rooms - other than the cold bathroom floor! Bed was really comfortable me and very thoughtful touches for the dog!

Fabulous, would highly recommend

Stayed one night with my husband to celebrate his birthday, food in the Upper Deck restaurant was superb as was the breakfast the following morning. Room amazing, loved the bath!

Just one minor gripe, would have preferred a proper double rather than twin beds pushed together.

Outstanding value for money. The rooms are immaculate- the staff are so helpful, personal and friendly. The food was outstanding and the wine selection was so diverse. Mason the server was phenomenal for a young lad FairPlay. Very very impressed

Beautiful hotel with outstanding staff

Really lovely hotel. Very dog friendly, rooms are clean and beautifully decorated and we had a great breakfast cooked to order. But it’s the staff that really make the place special. They took great care of us and our elderly relatives and nothing was too much trouble. We hope to be able to return soon!

Restful country stay

Recently refurbished and some minor work going on but didn't affect our stay. Good twin room - set in garden on ground floor, with everything you need, plus bottled water provided. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Cafe attached which does fantastic cakes and coffee, which is all we needed after breakfast instead of lunch. Food quality was brilliant - the best rib eye steak I've had in years. We were eating in the bar as the restaurant wasn't open at the beginning of the week, but still plenty of choice. Really good staff working there - very welcoming. It was a belated wedding anniversary and they gave us brownies and strawberries in our room. We will be back when we want a special treat.

Would have liked a hand towel holder in the bathroom, but that's being picky. Good choice for breakfast but would have liked some cereal choices. There were a couple of times in the evening when there were not enough staff to deal with both food and drink orders.

Stayed 3 nights for my 80th birthday,could not of picked a better place to stay.

Breakfast very good value, friendliness of all the staff, a special mention for Kirsty.

No Hot water for the first 24 hrs. However everyone kept apologising & gave us a free breakfast!!

A hidden gem

Absolutely amazing room and lots of lovely touches for the dog. So useful that the door opens out onto the outside for letting the dog out in the mornings. Such a comfy bed and luxurious interiors. Delicious food and really lovely staff. Very child friendly with colouring paper and crayons provided.

Very nice stay with a bit of room for improvement.

Staff were very friendly and eager to help. Very nice refurbishment, whole hotel looked very smart and finished to a high standard.

Hotel was recently refurbished and some minor snagging details still need to be resolved, e.g. missing or not working bulbs, in-room refreshments should be checked (no tea bags, no milk). The choices for breakfast were quite good but missing any form of cereals, which many people eat at breakfast time. Mains plugs in bedrooms should really have USB sockets included. Given the above, the hotel was a bit pricey for the service provided.

10/10 stay - would highly recommend for a weekend trip away in the Wye Valley

Recently renovated in keeping with the style and feel of the village. I liked how open plan it was so it felt like the community could also spend time there and not just guests. We had a lovely one night stay here, the staff were friendly and knowledgable about the local area. The new renovation looks amazing, the style and design suits the area and our rooms were tidy, clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the pizza oven outside and the fire pit! Breakfast was great, they had everything you’d need.

Lovely stay in this recently refurbished hotel...the staff are fab!

Wonderful staff - each person happy to help and make the stay special. Despite a few teething niggles from the re-opening - everyone did their best to rectify them as quickly as possible. The 'in garden' pizza oven was great - and even the Gluten Free pizza bases were very tasty! Super location for walking and cycling - fortunately for us we also had fab weather!

We had an issue with a ventilation fan that was running constantly in the bathroom - it couldn't be rectified over the Bank Holiday weekend - so we were moved to a room where this wasn't an issue.

Amazing location but begging for a full refit

Excellent location, very good Sunday Roast and breakfast. Staff were great if not a bit tired at the end of the season.

Building is end of life and needs a complete refit/significant improvement rooms have single glazing lots of moisture on inside of windows damp feeling in rooms felt old, cold and tired.
