Wunderschöne Altbau-Stil Wohnung

Die Nähe zum AKH aber auch zur U6 war ideal! Die Küche war eigentlich gut ausgestattet, obwohl kleinere Teller und Weingläser fehlten. Das Wohnzimmer war auch perfekt ausgestattet.

Das Schlafzimmer mit Deckenglühbirne hat uns leider nicht gefallen. Das war nicht einladend.

Appartement spacieux, propre, bien chauffé et très bien situé par rapport aux transports en commun. Tram juste devant l'immeuble et metro à deux minutes à pied. Communication fluide avec l'agence, arrivée très facile et autonome.

Il manquait à notre goût quelques équipements dans la cuisine: micro-onde, passoire, gant pour le four, pichet pour l'eau, petite cafetière italienne...Aussi le classeur avec les recommandations avait été emporté.

First off, I was born and raised in Vienna, so I'm reviewing this apartment in the context of a returning émigrée. We stayed in two properties in the same building which are both owned/run by these folks. The general part of this review applies to both (and has been copied and pasted). For context, I was travelling with my partner, so if you're planning to travel in a group and/or with kids, YMMV. Check-in/-out was easy (lockbox). Communicated with hosts twice, prompt and polite responses both times. Small lift in the building so you only have to navigate a few shallow steps in the entrance. Properties were very clean. Towels/lines were decent quality and thickness/warmth. Good amount of hangers/closet space, including by the entrances, though if you have multiple suitcases you might end up having to shove them into a random corner for the duration of your stay. The location of the house is very convenient even by Vienna standards: Pharmacy in the same building. Stop for the 42 tram immediately outside, 2min walk to U6. Right by the AKH (general hospital) which has a grocery store with extended opening hours. Bakery on the bridge to AKH. Living room was a great size, good dining table, comfy dining chairs. Kitchen had ample amount of plates, bowls, glasses, and cutlery. Some basic condiments/consumables provided. Dishwasher, washing machine worked fine. Good amount of storage (some in living room) for clothes (but not suitcases). Bedroom faces interior courtyard = mostly quiet with the window open, except when people use the trash cans.

Someone thought carefully about the design and set-up of these properties, but furniture and 'equipment' has either been optimised for nice photos (rather than useability) or degraded over time. Bedroom furniture in particular was cheap and squeaky, and the mattresses were not great (we slept OK, but both young, healthy, and skinny, so YMMV). Lots of white/cream carpets turned more grey/gross now. Several rooms with naked lightbulbs. Random orphan screws/nails in the walls (missing paintings?). Missing items that you'll probably want/need upon arrival (e.g., hand soap, lightbulbs). I understand not wanting to provide non-urgent items (e.g., laundry detergent) or enough for the whole stay, but arriving from a long journey to find you can't even wash your hands properly is a real pain. Living room TV kept disconnecting from WiFi (restarted three times in an hour before giving up). Careful sitting on sofa to avoid bashing tailbone on folding bed hardware. The two large fuzzy sofa pillows absolutely reeked of sweat. Kitchen utensil selection I'd describe as "Spartan." No microwave (fine, if inconvenient), but also no kettle! The chef's knife was so blunt I'd consider it dangerous to use. Bedroom is above entrance so you hear people coming/going. Unplugged floor lamps and fans blocked (very narrow) paths, had to move nightstand back into correct position. No rug + cheap metal furniture = echo chamber (good luck with loud kids or just regular conversation). Hand soap dispensers were completely empty. Shower leaked onto tiles. Bathmat only appropriate for shoe sizes 6.5 (US), 37 (EU) or smaller. Towel heater didn't work. Lights and fan are turned on by the same switch, so even brushing your teeth will get you the wind tunnel experience.

Die Wohnung liegt ca. 4 km vom Zentrum von Wien entfernt in einer guten Gegend (Nähe Medizinische Fakultät der Uni), das Schlafzimmer ist nach hinten raus ruhig. Die große Couch ist sehr bequem, die Wohnung ist nüchtern, aber schön eingerichtet. Es gab ein nettes Geschenk zum "Einzug"
