Luxo e Conforto - Visconde

Great location and the apartment looked very new and modern. The TV was excellent and the space was comfortable for the stay.

The reservation was for 3 guests, but there were not enough towels or bed linens for everyone. Also, the apartment was quite dusty when we arrived.

La ubicacion del lugar es excelente. Muy cerquita de la playa, al lado hay un supermercado con todo lo necesario, farmacia, etc. El dpto muy moderno y muy comodo.

Eramos 4 y nos habian dejado solo la cama matrimonial preparada y solo dos toallas (osea para dos personas). Luego de hablar con el anfitrion, nos dejaron una bolsa con sabanas para armar el sillon y dos toallas más. Se resolvio, pero tuvimos que insistir, las primeras dos noches dormimos sin sabanas en el sillon. Me hubiera gustado una respuesta más rapida.

I enjoyed how the apartment was newly refurbished. It was equipped with two large TVs which was good, especially as I was staying during F1 weekends and the World Cup. Decent location - very close to Ipanema beach!

I feel that this room focused a lot on ‘looking’ good, rather than functionality. Firstly, having a washing machine but not providing washing up powder/pods was a first for me. Same with not providing cooking utensils (knives, stirring spoons). While the apartment was nicely decorated, I felt that simply providing a white sheet as a duvet and a blue blanket did not suffice. It is winter in Brazil, after all. I am 5 ft 4 and the bed was very small, too. Also, walls in this building are paper thin. I heard the conversations, sneezes and phone calls of people in other apartments. A few mornings (and on a Sunday!) there was some sort of construction going on in an adjacent room; the sounds were deafening. I couldn’t even leave the apartment as it was raining. I sent a voice note of the loud sounds to the host, and she just said she will find out and…didn’t get back to me. I don’t expect her to stop the construction, of course. This was unfortunately a running theme throughout my stay. I’d ask a question and either get no response or days in-between my response. There did not seem to be any level of customer service: it really did feel like she was simply providing a bed to stay and no more. However, she did let me check out a little later at 2pm…but I had to pay 50BRL to keep my luggage there.
