Maria apartment

The house is very beautiful and has a great location with a nice view. Maria was very caring and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place!

Really lovely, traditional place. Balcony with sun loungers although we didnt use them. Use of washing machine- booking.com said they had detergent but I couldn't see any, so glad that I took my own pod- and clothes horse on the balcony. Full kitchen, lounge with sofa, really comfortable double bed and bathroom. A home from home. Also loved the location. A 10 minute drive to Ponto do Sol if you turn left at end of street, a right takes you to the mountains and some of the trails. Close to Calheta for lovely restaurants. It felt better for us to stay here than in Funchal area. Supermarket at end of road although we tended to use the larger Pingo Doce ones. Also able to park right outside the property on the drive. Met the people who I think lived on the ground floor and they were really friendly although our Portuguese is zero as was their English.

Being really picky bit a shower curtain could help some of the water that sprays out when showering but just a really small thing as a suggestion. Perfectly functional and hot water on demand. A few reviews mentioned neighbouring dogs barking and yes a few nights we did hear them but its a neighbourhood. If one compares it with staying in a city I would say the noise was far far less.
