Location was perfect for my needs, I’ve stayed at The Bugle before so I was very happy to book again
My single room was fine, nice bathroom, comfy bed etc although my one disappointment was that the en-suite didn’t have a toilet. I had a key for mine which was on the landing but that isn’t ideal in the middle of the night

The room was clean and tidy.
This was booked so that we could enjoy some drinks and bar snacks and chill out after a nice evening with friends in the village and then go to our room. We were told that the pub closed at 11pm and so did the reception desk. At check-in no one had informed us of the access door and the necessity of an access code there was a piece of paper in the bedroom with this information on it but no one was told to read it and no one was told about the access door so when we turned up at 10 pm an hour before closing time to enjoy some drinks and atmosphere the entire entire pub was shut. It have been closed daily with no notice to ourselves no phone call nothing so we couldn’t enjoy the atmosphere and had to wait outside for half an hour in the freezing cold whilst frantically trying to get hold of the owners so that we could actually get in and get to our room. You shouldn’t close a pub when you have patrons even if it is only two patrons that are booked if you advertise as a pub hotel then that’s what it is and those facilities should all be available.

Not too much noise until the delivery man arrived just outside the window at 08:00.
No food at the hotel.

No breakfast offered but cafe across the road. Fascinating village with some independent shops, lovely church. Location perfect for what I needed, Naomi was delightful, very welcoming and helpful. Having a separate entrance which guests could use at any time was especially useful with my dog. Guest parking also appreciated

The lady who greeted us was lovely, showed us up to the room and explained the guest entrance and check out details. The room was lovely and comfortable. Room 6 luckily no sign of any ghosts!! The room had a kettle.
No food available as the kitchen wasn’t open. But we could buy some food from the supermarket next door.

My room was clean and spacious
The car park is tight if there are more than 3 cars in there, and it is pitch black with no lighting at all, the corridors were all very dark and lit with emergency lighting only and no advance warning that they do not serve food on Mondays (and neither do the other local pubs)

The young lady that checked us in to our rooms was extremely helpful and pleasant. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for the size of the portions. A small village pub which was very quiet with friendly staff.
The building is quite old and the rooms reflect this. The shower in my room worked well however the shower head would not stay in place and i had to hold it while showering.

I arrived and was swiftly checked in by a lady called Naomi who showed me to my room and was very personable who clearly enjoy's people and hospitality. I never used the restaurant but i will next time. I spent the evening in the bar locals very friendly had a quiz too and the lady behind the bar Lottie is hilarious and she made the evening a real buzz, keep being you Lottie. Room 4 i was in and it was very quiet, curtains block the light out in the room i slept really well and nice hot shower in ensuite. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice room with an old feeling in keeping with the building. Good facilities and friendly staff.
Shower was slightly internment, the room was located above the main bar so music and karaoke could be heard, however, it was turned down at 2200 hrs as stated. TV volume didn’t work off the remote that was left in the room, thus I couldn’t drown out the bad karaoke lol.

The staff were friendly & helpful. The shower was good sheets etc spotless. Good location for St Malo ferry.
The carpets and furnishings were dated & there was a singer & karaoke all day & evening until past 11pm which could be heard clearly in our room Food selection poor.

The bed linen and towels on offer were clean and good quality. The hostess was welcoming and helpful.
I booked this hotel, understanding that there was no evening meal on offer, but there was breakfast. I was very disappointed to be told that breakfast was no longer on offer. I would not have booked it, had I known this in advance. The hotel offered historic style, but the rooms were small and the premises felt old fashioned and worn. There were facilities in the rooms, but again, old fashioned. For example, there was no specific charging point for a phone. It was disappointing to experience this hotel, having very recently been staying in French hotels in a similar price bracket.

Staff were absolutely fantastic - massive kudos to the lovely guy who showed me to my room and explained everything! Room was super clean, bed very comfy. Restaurant served the best jacket potato I've had in my life!
Didn't realise the toilet was outside the room and down the hall, only accessible with a key. I was doing a 15-mile running event the next day and I'd booked this room because the listing said 'private bathroom' (important when you get up a lot in the night!) Also, the window only opens about 20cm - which is not enough in the height of summer! Honestly wouldn't have paid £80 if I'd known these things before.

Loud music Saturday night. Was there a party?
Stopped at 11.30, but our room seemed above it.

The location was convenient.
The organisation was truly shambolic, after advising I would be checking in late I was given the wrong access code even though I asked that it was checked to ensure it was correct. I was given the wrong phone number for the night management, I had to point out it had too many digits. I was advised that this was for the ‘more reliable’ night management staff. I arrived 12:30 am, the light over the residents door was broken, the car park was dark, the code didnt work and I wasn’t able to raise anyone via the number for night management despite ringing repeatedly. I spent an hour driving round looking for a room in a different hotel before receiving a text with the correct access code. After eventually accessing the room and sleeping, the shower in the morning was broken and cold. The staff’s lack of interest or understanding as to why it is important they do their role with some sort of level of care is flabbergasting.

Usual warm welcome from the staff and lovely decorations and atmosphere. They let also some snacks for breakfast. Love the Bugle !
Unfortunately got the only room that has separated toilet from the room. Even if private it’s still less comfortable.
