The courtyard was relaxing, comfortable and peefect in every way. We enjoyed being able to sit outside rain or shine and relax. The artistry was so interesting. Lots to look at - eye candy. The place was immaculate. The location ideal for Statzione Centrale, the Market etc. Very easy access to get into upon arrival. The best part of all was the Owner and Staff. Friendly, helpful, and always available to answer questions, give directions, make suggestions. Extremely helpful.

Stairs to the bed were challenging. For older folks, just be aware.

The apartment and the courtyard have been decorated with love and I had almost everything I needed for a few days. Some useful information: the apartment consists of four rooms in a row: room 1 with a window and a narrow bed, room 2 with kitchen and bathroom next to it, room 3 with large bed and no window, room 4 with sofa bed and a door to a small balcony. Apartment entrance is in room 2. Room 1 has no blinds. The only protection against sunlight was a curtain which fell down upon opening the window. Sofa bed in room 4 uncomfortable and short if you sleep on it with the head near the wall -- if you sleep parallel to the wall, it should be fine. Large bed in room 3 was comfortable. Air conditioning works well as long as it is switched on. I was missing a sharp knife and muesli bowls and a small pan for making scrambled eggs.

The area in which the apartment is located is not nice. Buildings are rotting away, sidewalks are broken, there is dirt everywhere and in the heat of sommer there were bad smells of garbage and urine everywhere. The next supermarkets were at least 20 minutes walking away, as was the old town (which was just as bad as the area near the apartment). It's not the fault of the apartment owners obviously -- quite on the contrary, the building complex and apartment felt a bit like a safe place or oasis amid the rubble and smell outside. I spent most of my time in the kitchen, which was the only room with a table and the lack of a window there was a bit depressing, but on the other hand it meant more protection from the heat and noise outside. If I didn't have to work on my computer and it hadn't been so hot, I could have stayed on the terrace or the courtyard, of course. The toilet doesn't flush well -- toilet paper needs to be put in the bin instead of the toilet and for flushing down excrements I needed to carry bowls of water from the kitchen to throw them into the toilet while flushing.
